The Esports and Event Specialist will work with two primary functions. The position works collaboratively with student organizations, academic departments, Admissions, Club Sports, and external partners to promote student engagement, recruitment, and institutional visibility. The person will also be a subject matter expert in event audio visual and customer service for campus and community events. Hours vary and will include weekends, evenings and are events driven.
Key Job Responsibilities:- Creates and maintains schedules, logistics, and resources for one or multiple student affairs programs, activities, and/or services
- Writes, edits, and publishes content for various communication projects and marketing platforms to align with strategic initiatives and established communication campaigns
- Organizes student-focused programming and resources to promote new and ongoing educational initiatives
- Serves as a subject matter expert regarding student affairs to internal and external stakeholders
- Generates and analyzes reports of curricular and unit outcomes
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 1-2 years of relevant experience in collegiate esports.
- Knowledge of game streaming platforms, tournament management software, and esports technologies.
- A commitment and understanding of student engagement.
- Event planning and coordination experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and and/or related software for data management.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in recreation, health, fitness, business, education or related field.
- Experience working in compliance regulation.
- Experience in space/facility management.
- Experience supervising student employees and volunteers.
- Experience with recruitment, partnership development, or sponsorship acquisition.
- Financial/budget experience.
- Knowledge of and experience working with audiovisual equipment, including data projectors and other presentation-style technology.
Compensation & Benefits:
The Esports and Events Specialist position is a full-time, salaried, exempt, annual (12-month), academic staff position. The standard hours for this position are 11AM-7:30PM daily.
Well-qualified candidates can expect a starting annual salary within a range of $49,500 - $55,000 commensurate with the candidate’s education, related experience, and qualifications.
