Position Summary:
The Electronic Security Installer will be responsible for performing installs of appropriate devices, dismantling and reconstructing equipment as required by the work order.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Service and install intrusion, fire, CCTV, and access control security systems
Perform scheduled and/or routine preventative maintenance on a variety of equipment/systems under contract by inspecting, adjusting, cleaning, and calibrating.
Installs appropriate devices, dismantles and reconstructs equipment as required by the commercial customer or management.
Works safely and responsibly to avoid injuries, damage to property, loss of unused materials and cleans up installation debris.
Contacts customers prior to the date of scheduled installation to verify the schedule.
Prepares estimates in accordance with prescribed instructions or directions of supervisor.
Follows proper schematic wiring diagrams and hook-up procedures.
Tests operation of the system to the signal-receiving center to properly establish service.
Reads building, electrical and sprinkler blueprints as required.
Coordinates installations with required contacts and handles necessary records.
May work with other installers who are dedicated to a large commercial project.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills and Requirements:
Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
Ability to operate hand and power tools. Ability to operate a fleet vehicle in a safe manner at all times.
Knowledge in surveillance and security systems with a basic understanding of electronics, wiring, local and national codes.
Ability to communicate and provide excellent customer service.
Valid driver's license and driving record in Good Standing
Ability to maintain a reliable vehicle and appropriate liability vehicle insurance to perform work in the area, as deemed appropriate by Cennox liability insurance policy, currently in place and as amended in the future
Subject to pre-employment drug and alcohol testing requirements, as well as at random, reasonable suspicion, and post-accident drug and alcohol tests as deemed appropriate by Cennox current approved drug testing policy.
Education and Experience:
Six to twelve months of apprenticeship/classroom study
OR 2 to 4 years electrical and electronic equipment experience with demonstrated mechanical aptitude or a combination.
Previous knowledge and training in the electronic security industry, preferred.
Current licensing, as required by state.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and move 50 or more pounds
Ability to sit and drive vehicle
Ability to climb, bend, stoop, and reach freely
Vision correctable to 20/20
