Works on a small Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) team that is responsible for the configuration, maintenance, and continuous improvement of ERCOT’s ERP product suite, which includes Workday Human Capital Management (HCM), Workday Financial Management, Workday Adaptive Planning, Workday Prism Analytics, Cornerstone OnDemand Learning Management System (LMS), and other applications (Contract Lifecycle Management, Exiger, Blackline, SuccessFactors, DocuSign). Works on broad cross-module and cross-platform functional areas. At the P3 level, this role serves as the primary technical authority and architectural lead across the ERP product suite, drives complex cross-module and cross-platform initiatives end-to-end, owns the design integrity and operational stability of the platform, and mentors P1 and P2 analysts on the team. Responsible for partnering with business stakeholders to pursue opportunities for greater efficacy and efficiency as well as to identify and resolve system issues. Provides consultation and support to SMEs and end-users of the ERP products through analysis, development, configuration, testing, promotion through environments, and change management.
JOB DUTIES

- Provides day-to-day technical guidance, design review, and mentoring to P1 and P2 analysts on the team; coaches lower-level analysts through complex configuration, reporting, integration, and security work.
ADDITIONAL JOB DUTIES
- Architecture and design leadership: Define and shape the overall functional and business process architecture across the ERP product suite ensuring efficient and accurate design and configuration of the delivered solution. Serve as the primary technical authority on cross-module and cross-platform design decisions, combining expert-level proficiency in Workday and senior-level proficiency in Cornerstone OnDemand with deep understanding of HR, Finance, and Learning process architecture; translate broad and ambiguous requirements into deliverables and partner with HR and Finance functional analysts to align process design across departments.
- Release, delivery, and change management: Lead Workday release checklist process and complex issue resolution and post-release stabilization. Partner with HR and Finance business owners on Kainos Smart Test execution; lead defect triage for cross-module and high-severity defects. Sponsor and present major and high-risk changes at Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings; review and endorse changes presented by junior analysts; serve as a primary CAB representative and ensure change management and SDLC principles are applied across the ERP product suite.
- Reporting and analytics: Architect and lead the design of the reporting and analytics layer across the ERP product suite, including Workday Report Writer (Advanced, Matrix, Composite, and Search reports), calculated fields, BIRT report design files (authored in Workday Studio for report layout and formatting), Workday Prism Analytics datasets and dashboards, and Cornerstone Reporting. Lead the design of complex multi-source, audit-grade, and executive-facing reports; review and approve reports built by junior analysts; prepare scheduled and ad-hoc reports; set standards for report writing, calculated field design, and data governance; provide SMEs and junior analysts with report writing guidance, instructions, and documentation. Ensure data accuracy, security, and data privacy standards are met through reviews, testing, change management, routine data audits, and validation.
- Workday Prism Analytics: Administer the Prism environment — dataset design, transformations, dashboards, Discovery Boards, & security to deliver advanced analytics and reporting across HR and Finance. Set standards for Prism dataset modeling, naming, and governance; review and approve Prism work performed by junior analysts; partner with HR and Finance business owners on Prism roadmap and use case prioritization.
- Create, maintain, and execute Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB) integrations for inbound and outbound data movement across all Workday functional areas; provide expertise on EIBs built by SMEs and junior analysts.
- Security architecture and configuration: Define and govern the Workday and Cornerstone security model — security groups, domains, business process security policies, role-based access, and Cornerstone constraints / OU permissions — in compliance with ERCOT policies and procedures. Administer the segregation-of-duties (SoD) framework, drive SoD compliance and remediation, and approve security configuration changes at CAB; review security work performed by junior analysts. Configure and maintain Workday business processes, condition rules, and notifications across all functional areas; architect and lead complex business-process redesigns that span multiple functional areas and that touch security, integrations, and reporting. Assess and make recommendations on the feasibility of security, business process, and reporting changes and their impact on data accessibility, business processes, audit posture, and downstream systems.
- Audit and regulatory compliance: Ensure adherence to and provide response to audit and regulatory requirements — SOX-equivalent financial controls, NERC CIP, and internal / external audits — including SoD reviews, security audits, audit log analysis, and remediation planning. Lead Kainos Smart Audit monitoring and findings response for SoD conflicts, security group / domain permission anomalies, configuration change control, and sensitive-data access across Workday tenants; serve a primary IT-ERP audit liaison and communicate effectively with SMEs, executives and external auditors.
- Cornerstone LMS architecture and administration: Administer ERCOT’s Cornerstone OnDemand environment — organizational units (OUs), learning objects, curricula, certifications, dynamic learning assignments, SCORM / AICC / xAPI content loads, custom reports, and security. Serve as technical contact for Cornerstone; partner with the Learning function on roadmap and platform decisions.
- Production support, operations, and vendor management: Own the production support function for the ERP product suite, including triage and resolution of the most complex, cross-module, and high-severity incidents escalated from others; conduct root-cause analysis and drive corrective action. Monitor recurring processes and scheduled jobs; perform regular application, systems, and administration tasks. Own third-party vendor escalations for Workday, Cornerstone, Kainos, and other ERP products. Manage change requests, and major project tasks in Jira; review and prioritize the team’s ServiceNow ticket queue; set and maintain technical and procedural documentation standards in Confluence (runbooks, configuration notes, integration design notes, post-mortems, and architectural decision records) and govern shared files in SharePoint and OneDrive in accordance with ERCOT records-management and data-classification standards.
- Mentoring, standards, and cross-team engagement: Provide day-to-day thought leadership, technical mentoring, and design review for junior analysts on the team and for HR- and Finance functional analysts and testers. Establish and maintain standards, guidelines, security policies, and quality assurance procedures for the ERP product suite; contribute to technical standards review. Partner with IT (Infrastructure, Identity, Information Security, and Data) to address system, interface, data, and vendor issues; represent the ERP team in cross-IT design forums. Maintain presence in the Workday Community and Cornerstone Success Center; participate in regional user groups and conference sessions; cultivate external peer networks at other Workday customers to benchmark and share approaches.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- Requires minimum 5 years job related work experience in excess of degree requirements, including at least 3 years of hands-on Workday and/or Cornerstone OnDemand configuration, administration, or development experience, and at least 1 year of demonstrated leadership on complex cross-module or cross-platform ERP initiatives.
- Requires deep knowledge of Workday HCM and Workday Financial Management business processes, expert-level proficiency in Workday best practices, senior-level proficiency in Cornerstone OnDemand or another major LMS, and excellent technical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Combination of training and experience in information technology and business operations to incorporate business systems analysis, process analysis, EIB integration development, BIRT report design, security architecture, audit support, vendor oversight, and technical communication skills effectively into the role to maintain a high functioning ERP system.
- Preferred: experience with Workday Prism Analytics, Cornerstone LMS administration, audit support in a SOX-equivalent or NERC CIP environment, mentoring of junior analysts.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s Degree: Computer Science, Business, MIS, Information Systems, Information Technology, Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, or related field (Required)
- or a combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge to a major in such fields is required.
- Preferred: multiple Workday Pro certifications (e.g., HCM, Financials, Prism, Reporting, or Security) and / or Cornerstone OnDemand administrator training / certification.
WORK LOCATION – Taylor, TX:
