Job Description:
The US Oil and Gas Equity Research team covers the US Integrated Oil, Refiner, and Midstream subsectors. The companies in these subsectors are complex and require the capacity to understand multinational trends, different fiscal regimes and sensitivities to a wide range of commodity environments to gauge equity performance. The team is looking for someone who has interest in the historical backdrop of the energy sector, anticipates new and emerging trends, develops original investment theses and effectively communicates investment recommendations to internal stakeholders and investor clients.
This role supports the team in all aspects from idea generation, financial modeling, participating in company meetings and communicating with other research teams, sales, trading, financial advisors, company management, investor clients and policy experts.
Responsibilities
- Perform complex financial modeling & valuation work
- Write regular industry and company reports and company launch initiations from scratch
- Develop databases integral to our research product
- Demonstrate strong industry knowledge and business judgment
- Work with Senior Analysts to develop key industry themes
- Build relationships and facilitate information flow with contacts at covered companies
- Participate and contribute to client meetings and events
- Attend meetings and interact with key opinion leaders
- Closely follow and understand market, industry and company-specific activity
- Generate data-driven investment ideas
- Interact regularly with clients
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of experience
- 3+ years of experience in equity research, investment banking or the buy side focusing on the Midstream subsector
- Strong writing and modeling skills. Must be an expert at MS Word and MS Excel
- Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced and intense environment.
- Must have excellent communications skills, written and verbal
- Must enjoy following the stock market and doing desktop and field research
- Along with Finance and Accounting, should have basic understanding of economics, macroeconomic factors, international affairs, and policy/politics
- Must have strong attention to detail, ability to multi-task
- Must work well in a collaborative team environment

Pay and benefits information
Pay range$110,000.00 - $175,000.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.
Discretionary incentive eligible
This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary plan. Employees are eligible for an annual discretionary award based on their overall individual performance results and behaviors, the performance and contributions of their line of business and/or group; and the overall success of the Company.
