CIB - BA Equities Derivatives | Deal Review

EDG Operations provides operational support across the CIB covering eight key product areas including FX, OTC Derivatives, Collateral Principal, 3rd Party Derivatives, Cleared Derivatives, Agency Collateral, Billing and CASS with ~1,900 employees. Services provided to our Businesses include:
- Transaction Processing, Confirmation, Settlement and Clearing, Collateral Management, Client Service, Invoicing and CASS Support
- Typical daily activity includes settling in excess of $217B via FX trading, leading a Markets OTC portfolio of 2.5M trades, servicing >200 3rd party clients, performing 10,000 margin calls, processing 470k cleared and intermediated trades and producing >9,000 invoices
- Manage a portfolio of 2.5M live trades
- Monthly settlement of 600,000 payments (100% increase vs. 300,000 in 2010)
- 70,000 Dodd Frank MTM and client valuation statements issued on a daily basis
- Perform deal reviews within the SLA which involves:
- Review Term sheet versus Risk management system.
- Legal Confirmation versus Risk management system.
EDG Operations supports a global and diverse client base. Primary functions performed: affirmation, settlement, client money daily segregation, credit event management, client valuations, regulatory reporting, deal review and tax reporting. Facilitate transaction execution via a ‘best in class’ systematic control framework, providing integration between risk systems (Athena, GPS, Kapital, Pyramid) and vendor platforms (DTCC / TIW / Markitwire / Thunderhead).

Job Description
The focus of the Deal Review team is to act as a key control in the business, ensuring that the deal agreed with the client is correctly booked and risk-managed within the respective systems, and is also consistent with the legal documentation issued to the counterparty for their agreement.
The deal review is performed for all OTC and securitized trades globally for all desks and regions. The team is required to understand the fundamentals of the product, the underlying instruments and business strategy to continually improve control infrastructure.
Summary of Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate reviews and Timely escalation of unissued/unexecuted documents.
- Drive Efficiency in the current process and identifying incorrect booking practice and educate Middle office on the impact.
- Building and sustaining, strong working relationships with internal Lines of Business with Middle Office, Front Office and internal Counterparts.
- Ensuring all issues are investigated and resolved in a timely manner as per Business Standards.
- Prepare weekly MIS and monthly control packs for Senior Management
- Analyze MI and report trends and spikes.
- Participate in various testings related to system enhancement, project implementation and new business initiatives.
- Identify control gaps and suggest improvement ideas for better efficiency and effectiveness.
Skills and Qualifications
- Graduate with 1-3 years experience.
- The candidate must be a motivated individual with strong partnership abilities.
- ISDA knowledge and Equity Derivatives Product knowledge along with Equity Derivative experience is preferable
- The individual must be able to: handle a high level of complexity in their product coverage, be able to shift gears with relative ease, be flexible enough in shifting workload in accordance with changing priorities and be comfortable dealing with a stressful and fast paced trading environment.
- Good communication skills.
- Needs to be highly numerate with excellent keyboard skills and a high-level of computer literacy.
- Needs to be aware and have an understanding of the large financial risks that can be incurred through operational errors and control risks.
Skills Required
- Graduate degree or equivalent qualification
- 1-3 years of relevant experience
- Knowledge of ISDA documentation
- Equity derivatives product knowledge and experience
- Ability to manage complex product coverage and shifting priorities
- Strong communication and partnership skills
- Strong numerical ability
- Excellent keyboard skills and computer literacy
- Understanding of financial risks arising from operational errors and control risks
