As an Equities Prime Trading Assistant - Associate within Equities Operations, you will support trading activity across Asia Pacific markets by managing key trade lifecycle events and ensuring accurate trade capture, allocation, settlement, and reconciliation. You will collaborate closely with traders and infrastructure partners to resolve discrepancies, manage risk, and maintain robust operational controls. You will also contribute to strategic initiatives that improve processes and strengthen the trading operating model.
Job responsibilities
- Support day-to-day trading operations across Asia Pacific markets
- Complete intraday and end-of-day processes to ensure accurate capture of new trading activity
- Manage trade lifecycle events, including trade capture, allocations, settlements, and reconciliations
- Allocate exchange, broker, and principal fills accurately to client orders
- Investigate and resolve trade-related breaks and exceptions under time pressure
- Partner with infrastructure teams to resolve discrepancies and improve trade processing outcomes
- Communicate effectively across teams to identify and address real-time risk and control issues
- Maintain strong control discipline with consistent focus on accuracy and precision
- Prioritize multiple requests and manage workloads in a fast-paced environment
- Provide clear updates and escalation to traders and partners as needed
- Contribute to strategic initiatives that enhance processes and business architecture
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, or a related discipline
- At least 3 years of experience in Finance or Banking Operations roles
- Understanding of cash equities workflows, including depositary receipt conversions and foreign exchange impacts
- Familiarity with listed options and futures operations
- Knowledge of trade lifecycle management and operational risk mitigation
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Effective communication skills with ability to partner with traders and functional teams
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple requests simultaneously
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas and pivot tables
- Commitment to continuous learning and staying current on market practices
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Familiarity with trading systems and ability to learn new technologies quickly.
- Prior experience in equities trade support, client services, or Profit and Loss (P&L) reporting.
- Fluency in an Asian language is a plus.
