Equipment & Tool Engineer 4/5 (Asset Engineering)

The Boeing Company is looking for two Equipment and Tool Engineers in Berkeley, MO.

Our team is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels, including senior levels (4 and 5).

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop program and project requirements, develops highly complex equipment and tooling concepts and designs solutions, including alternatives for the Production System 

  • Validate analysis of technical data, influences product engineering design and makes robotics, automation or technical recommendations to support production system integration for aerospace products

  • Lead the creation and modification of equipment and tooling definition

  • Execute project plans, provides input to Make/Buy decisions and partners with Procurement to meet program schedule, cost and quality targets

  • Ensure compliance with safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors and regulatory requirements

  • Lead gated reviews and develops plans for production readiness, preventative maintenance and spares 

  • Validate contractual performance milestones 

  • Develop and implement workarounds and maintains configuration of hardware, software and documentation

  • Conduct studies and make recommendation for disposition of assets

  • Coach and guide less experienced employees

  • Works under minimum direction

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in Engineering, Engineering Technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), Computer science, Engineering Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) AND typically 9 or more years' related work experience OR an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

  • 10 or more years’ of experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • 10 or more years’ of experience working in a tool engineering discipline.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 15 or more years’ of experience working in a Tool Engineering role.

  • 15 or more years’ of experience working in a production environment.

  • 5 or more years’ of CATIA or equivalent solid modeling experience.

  • 3 or more years’ leading teams in a leadership role.

  • Must be a motivated leader/self-starter that may be asked to train less experienced engineers.

  • Experience using basic Microsoft Office and office computing systems.

  • Ability to learn in a fast paced environment.

  • Ability to collaborate with both the engineering work force and the mechanics on the factory floor.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary Pay Range:

  • Level 4: $120,700 - $163,300
  • Level 5: $149,600 - $202,400

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
