Headquartered in Braddock, Pennsylvania, Phillips Tank is a growing company with a family-like culture. We have active projects in various industries, such as petroleum, power, chemical, and renewable fuels markets, throughout the United States. Phillips Tank utilizes state-of-the-art 3D modelling software to produce detailed design and fabrication drawings that are the best in the industry.
Job Summary
The Entry-Level Project Manager supports industrial and commercial, metals fabrication projects from estimate through delivery, ensuring parts and assemblies are produced accurately, on schedule, and within budget. This role works closely with engineering, production, and clients to coordinate schedules, track milestones, and resolve issues for the fabrication shop and local field installation projects. The ideal candidate is a collaborative teammate who learns quickly, asks thoughtful questions, and thrives in a fast-paced, fully-custom, shop environment.Compensation:Commensurate with experience.  Included is an IT Allowance of $35 per month, plus a company laptop computer. Eligible for year-end bonus.Benefits:Competitive Benefits. Available on the 1st of the month after a 30-day waiting period from the hire date. Phillips Tank pays approximately 60% and employees pay 40% of medical benefits premiums. Employees pay 100% for all other voluntary benefits. Paid Time Off. Status:Full-time/Salaried (Overtime Exempt).NOTE:Compensation, benefits, and other position details are subject to Phillips Tank’s policies and procedures. 
Responsibilities
  • Receive inquiries from customers about new work. Communicate with customers and internal teammates to determine the proper bidding approach. Review drawings and specifications; identify gaps or conflicts and seek clarification.
  • Develop accurate and timely cost estimates.
  • Develop detailed proposals for selling projects and agreements for our customers.
  • Set up and kick-off newly sold projects and communicate the pertinent details of the project to the project team. Set up and maintain the project files in a way that fosters teamwork, uniformity, and transparency.
  • Promote efficient and accurate schedule communication ensuring projects are well represented in any scheduling document, spreadsheet or tools.
  • Manage the change order process.
  • Assist with site measurements and pre-bid job walks to maintain customer and vendor relationship.
  • Initiate accounts receivable invoices. Ensure that the invoices are accurate and timely. Assist in collections as needed.
  • Complete job cost forecasting quarterly and review project financials. Gain and maintain a solid understanding of the financial performance of your projects. Utilize financial lessons learned from each project to benefit the Company.
  • Participate in project close-outs and continuous-improvement discussions.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, industrial technology, construction management, business or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 0–5 years in fabrication, manufacturing, construction or project coordination.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Word & Excel, internet software and email
    • Ability to read fabrication drawings and interpret technical specifications
    • Familiarity with Computer Aided Design (CAD)
    • Basic understanding of welding, machining, cutting or assembly processes
    • Experience in a fabrication or machine shop environment
    • Exposure to lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, quality control or production scheduling
  • Teamwork & Collaboration:
    • Proven team player with clear and respectful communication skills
    • Curious and eager to learn new tools, processes and industry standards
  • Site & Field Work:
    • Willingness to visit project sites, assess conditions, and interact with field teams
    • Comfortable with physical tasks like climbing ladders and using measuring tools
  • Problem Solving & Decision Making:
    • Strong problem-solving mindset with the initiative to dig into issues and propose solutions
  • Documentation & Organization:
    • Capable of maintaining accurate project records, reports, and drawing packages
    • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple jobs at once
