This role offers hands-on ownership of well-defined tasks with room to grow. You will use your technical foundation and judgment to complete standard design and verification work, flex your task sequence as priorities change, and ask senior engineers for guidance when issues fall outside established procedures.Job Description
In this role you will:
- Design, simulate, and verify FPGAs, and manage requirements using the applicable requirements tool.
- Support any phase of the FPGA design lifecycle on Xilinx, Microsemi, and other product families.
- Prepare the documentation needed for product development and DO-254 certification.
- Test and integrate the FPGA into a circuit card assembly.
- Contribute to the design and development of products, solutions, and systems, including technical improvements to existing products and components.
- Execute standard technical tasks under established instructions and work routines. Re-sequence tasks as work situations change.
- Resolve issues that call for good technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures. Consult senior team members when issues fall outside defined parameters.
- Explain technical information clearly to teammates and, for customer-facing work, serve as an interface between the customer and GE.
- Broaden your knowledge of your technical discipline and build an understanding of how your team's work fits with other teams. Lead a junior team when needed.
The Ideal Candidate
You are an early-career FPGA engineer who is comfortable with both design and verification and familiar with DO-254 discipline for avionics hardware. You take care with the quality of your own work and the work of others on the team. You also see how your FPGA fits into the circuit card assembly and the larger system.
You are curious and eager to learn. You communicate clearly in writing and in conversation. You work well within a defined framework, and you know when to ask for help. You document, plan, and follow through on your commitments.

- Experience with VHDL test benches, UVM test benches, and VxWorks C software.
- Familiarity with the DO-254 design process for avionics hardware.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
- Good interpersonal skills and willingness to lead a junior team.
