Job Description
We’re looking for a driven Senior Enterprise Leader to lead new business development across the French Asset Owner market - insurers, mutuelles, institutions de prévoyance, Caisse des Dépôts and related public investment bodies, and pension reserve funds, front to back office. This is primarily a new-business hunting role: you’ll prospect, build pipeline, and close net-new logos, with some scope to grow and upsell existing named accounts in the region. This role presents a unique opportunity to be part of the SaaS revolution we’re driving in the EMEA market and play a visible role in the growth of Clearwater’s Asset Owner vertical in France.
You’ll be responsible for building a new-business pipeline from the ground up. With deep domain knowledge of Clearwater and the French addressable market, you’ll drive the end-to-end sales process - identifying pain points and offering solutions in calls, demos, meetings, at conferences, and in the market. Local market contacts, knowledge of the French institutional investment landscape, and familiarity with the regulatory environment (ACPR, Solvency II, AMF) will be a strong advantage.
You’ll work collaboratively with Pre-Sales, Business Development Reps, and fellow Enterprise Sales colleagues, while also managing your own prospect and client relationships independently. The ideal candidate is a hungry, self-starting hunter who’s excited by the challenge of building Clearwater’s presence in a new market, and has experience selling to - or working within - the asset owner or institutional investment industry in France. Top performers excel at building pipeline from scratch, exceeding new-logo quota, and solving real challenges for prospects and clients. This role is based in Paris, France; London, UK will also be considered for candidates who are native or fluent French speakers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Identify, prospect, and develop new business opportunities with Asset Owners across the French market - insurers, mutuelles, institutions de prévoyance, Caisse des Dépôts and related public investment bodies, and pension reserve funds.
Build and manage a robust new-business pipeline from prospecting through to close, while also identifying opportunities to grow and upsell existing named accounts in the region.
Create and maintain relationships with prospects and market influencers, understanding their current infrastructure, business requirements, and challenges.
Proactively build expertise in the French market, regulatory landscape (ACPR, Solvency II, AMF), and Clearwater’s value proposition.
Conduct effective prospect meetings and perform needs identification.
Develop and progress net-new opportunities, closing deals within the assigned French market.
Work in close coordination with executive management and other internal teams (Client Services, Marketing, Pre-Sales).
Lead complete product demos across the relevant modules, reports, and asset classes requested by prospects.
REQUIREMENTS
Proficient understanding of the Asset Owner market in France, or a demonstrated ability to prospect and sell into this market.
Existing network of contacts and relationships within the French institutional investment community is a strong advantage.
Familiarity with the French regulatory environment (ACPR, Solvency II, AMF) is advantageous.
Proven record of new-business hunting and exceeding net-new logo targets.
Strong presentation and writing skills for client-facing activities.
Ability to work independently while thriving within a team environment.
High adaptability and flexibility, including the ability to manage deadline pressure, ambiguity, and change.
Strong negotiating skills.
Desired Experience and Skills
10+ years of complex new-business (hunting) sales experience, SaaS or Fintech preferred.
Native or fluent French and fluent English required.
Based in Paris, France; London, UK will also be considered for candidates who are native or fluent French speakers.
