Job Description

This hybrid role offers a great balance of home and office working. You’ll join your colleagues in the Milton Keynes or Telford office at least 3 days a week.

As the UK’s largest fibre-only network, and its only proven wholesale challenger, we’re busy setting new standards for what digital infrastructure can and should be.

Designed from scratch for the internet, our network is greener, more reliable and ready for the future. The products we provide over it not only lead the market on speed, value and service, they help businesses to innovate, provide entire communities with a better foundation for their digital lives and support economic growth, locally and nationally.

What does that mean for you? The opportunity to make internet connections (and daily life) a whole lot better, for a lot of people!

Joining us as a Enterprise GIS Architect

You’ll be responsible for defining, upholding, and communicating the Information Technology Architecture that supports CityFibre’s GIS vision and strategy. The role will ensure that common GIS architecture decisions support both business and IT strategy, and that the GIS architecture delivered aligns with the relevant CityFibre architecture policies, principals, and roadmap.

You’ll receive a competitive salary of up to £90,000, a car allowance, a performance related bonus, and a range of benefits to support you across your financial, physical and mental wellbeing.

This is some of what you can expect to be doing:

  • Capture and maintain current and future GIS architecture; develop roadmaps for investment
  • Define and deliver GIS strategy and roadmap in line with business goals
  • Establish IT principles, governance models, and data policies
  • Conduct architectural reviews and address issues with stakeholders
  • Evaluate internal functions and drive improvements
  • Support early program and project definition

What you’ll bring to the role

You’ll have extensive experience with complex system integration projects in telecommunications or utilities. You’ll also have:

  • The ability to communicate complex architectures to non-technical stakeholders using a structured analytical approach and quality deliverables
  • Experience managing third parties in architecture definition to ensure design continuity with internal elements
  • Understanding of SWAF (Spatial Web Application Framework) and VMDS (Virtual Model Data Store)
  • Skilled in using best practice methodologies and processes in Telecoms, IT, and Enterprise Architecture, including TM Forum, ITIL, TOGAF, BPMN, and UML
