The Enterprise Architect is responsible for delivery of customer-focused software and IT projects in a fast-paced, dynamic, environment. This position works directly with the PMO and customer’s front office staff to help set the technical direction for the department. Many of the department’s groups have independently developed their networks and supporting systems, which has led to a complex web of systems. The ideal architect will advise on a scalable, hybrid cloud integration for the program and support ongoing innovation to the data environment. A successful individual will collaborate with software engineers, data scientists, analysts, project managers and other engineering groups provide support in the areas of data extraction, transformation, and load (ETL), data mapping, analytics, operations, databases, and maintenance of data and associated systems.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.
· At least ten (10) years’ work experience in information systems engineering and/or administration building and evolving a heterogeneous Windows and Linux networked environment.
o Experience should include implementation to maximize IT capabilities for data processing, systems, and user workflows.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
Demonstrated experience in the following:
· Building cloud compatible, service oriented, highly scalable, and web-enabled enterprise application independent of platform, language, framework.
· Operating a delivering in an Enterprise IT lifecycle, to include:
· System Security and Auditing
· Data Processing and Analytics
· Software development and methodologies
· Technologies Transition
· Building and managing IT solution in the IC.
· Developing and managing IT solutions integrating cloud technologies.
· Creating new and evolving existing large-scale data warehouse using COTS, GOTS and open-source technologies that meet compliance, availability, and recovery requirements.
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
· Demonstrated experience transitioning legacy IT solutions in part or whole to cloud environment, engineering the solutions to take full advantage of the cloud platform.
· Prior experience engineering integrated technical solutions to process and improve the exploitation of disparately collected, high volume (a subset includes streaming) data types to meet near –real time operational requirements.
· Familiarity with the technologies and processes to perform digital data and media forensics.
· Demonstrated experience transition new/modern technologies into existing systems to advance capabilities and more effectively meet user functional and/or strategic requirements.
· Demonstrated experience delivering solutions using the technologies that comprise the Sponsor’s enterprise.
· Prior experience working with the Sponsor on similar programs, missions, or in the IC.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Primarily strategic role with selective hands-on involvement to maintain and validate architectural integrity.
· While largely strategic, ensure architectural integrity through implementation, including review and oversight during delivery phases.
· Lead development of long-term plans for scalable, resilient infrastructure across cloud, on-prem, networking, storage, and compute domains.
· Translate business objectives into actionable architectural initiatives understood across the organization.
· Provide technical direction and oversight to infrastructure architects, engineers, and cross-functional project teams.
· Promote innovation and continuous improvement in infrastructure design and operations.
· Ensure seamless interoperability between legacy systems, cloud platforms, and application ecosystems.
· Work closely with cybersecurity team to mitigate risks and enforce policies.
