Job Description:
Duties/Responsibilities- Administer, configure, monitor, maintain, and support assigned enterprise applications across production and nonproduction environments.
- Diagnose and resolve complex application, integration, authentication, data, performance, and availability issues; coordinate escalations with vendors and internal teams as needed.
- Plan and execute application upgrades, patches, service packs, releases, and configuration changes, including readiness assessment, dependency analysis, testing, deployment, validation, and rollback planning.
- Manage the complete application lifecycle, including evaluation, architecture review, implementation, transition to support, optimization, version currency, technical debt reduction, and decommissioning.
- Maintain application roadmaps, upgrade schedules, support matrices, licensing information, technical documentation, runbooks, configuration records, and knowledge articles.
- Support interfaces, APIs, scheduled jobs, data exchanges, middleware, and application dependencies; monitor failures and restore service promptly.
- Work closely with Microsoft technologies, including Windows Server, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Active Directory, Azure, PowerShell, SQL Server, IIS, and related security and administration tools.
- Automate repeatable administration, monitoring, deployment, reporting, and support activities using PowerShell or other appropriate scripting and orchestration tools.
- Apply change management, release management, incident management, problem management, and configuration management practices to application support activities.
- Develop and execute technical test plans for upgrades, integrations, disaster recovery, security changes, and application enhancements; document results and remediate identified issues.
- Partner with cybersecurity and infrastructure teams to implement access controls, vulnerability remediation, certificate management, logging, backup, recovery, and business continuity requirements.
- Monitor application health, capacity, performance, availability, support trends, and vendor service levels; recommend improvements based on measurable results.
- Serve as a technical liaison among application owners, business teams, vendors, project teams, and support groups, translating business requirements into sustainable technical solutions.
- Participate in an on-call rotation and planned after-hours maintenance when required to support critical systems and minimize operational disruption.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, management information systems, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
- Five or more years of progressively responsible experience supporting, administering, integrating, and upgrading enterprise applications in complex environments.
- Demonstrated experience leading or performing application upgrades, including planning, dependency assessment, testing, deployment, validation, issue resolution, and post-implementation support.
- Strong knowledge of application lifecycle management, software release practices, environment management, vendor support models, and application retirement processes.
- Microsoft certification in Azure, Microsoft 365, Windows Server, Power Platform, security, or a related discipline.
- Experience supporting enterprise applications in a regulated or highly available environment.
- Experience with application monitoring, automation, APIs, middleware, source control, deployment pipelines, and cloud platforms.
- Familiarity with disaster recovery planning, high availability, data retention, audit requirements, and vendor risk management.
- ITIL Foundation or equivalent service management training.
