A fast-growing fintech startup is looking for a Engineering Squad Lead to join a high-impact engineering team building large-scale, AI-driven systems in production.
This is not a classic management role - we’re looking for someone who leads by building, stays hands-on, and drives technical excellence from within the team.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of 3–5 engineers while staying deeply hands-on
- Own backend architecture and design scalable, production-grade systems
- Build and improve distributed, event-driven systems in a high-scale environment
- Drive technical decisions, code quality, and engineering best practices
- Work closely with product, leadership, and cross-functional teams
- Mentor engineers and help grow a high-performing team
- Integrate AI tools and workflows into daily engineering processes
- Strong Backend development experience with Node.js / TypeScript
- Proven experience with system design, architecture, and large-scale production systems
- 2+ years of team leadership / technical leadership experience
- Strong experience with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka
- Experience with MongoDB and PostgreSQL
- Hands-on mindset : someone who still codes and leads from the front
- Startup mentality with high ownership and fast execution
- Daily usage of AI tools such as Claude, Cursor, Codex, and AI-driven automations
Skills Required
- Strong Backend development experience with Node.js / TypeScript
- Proven experience with system design, architecture, and large-scale production systems
