Summary Generated by Built In

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.

The Business Systems team is responsible for building and improving the many business systems that enables Anduril to accomplish its mission. Anduril’s supply chain, accounting, sales & growth, physical engineering, field maintenance, manufacturing, and many more teams rely on the technology built by us. We call our ecosystem of software “Arsenal OS”, which you can read more about here.
We are looking for a Engineering Software Training Manager to join our Engineering Operating System (aka EngOS, a component of Arsenal OS) team. You will partner with Hardware Engineering teams across the company’s many business lines to provide software and process/workflow training, upskilling, and enablement. This position plays a critical role to EngOS, Business Systems, and all of Andruil, as you will be responsible for ensuring our thousand plus engineers are capable of fully utilizing the suite of engineering tools made available to them. The compounding effect of our hardware engineers under-utilizing their digital tools has enormous negative compounding effects to the company’s mission. Your mission will be to educate and enable our engineering workforce to be able to operate at their highest level, helping the company’s flywheel crank faster!

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Design and deliver engaging training sessions on engineering software workflows, features, and functionalities both in-person and virtually.
  • Develop comprehensive training materials including manuals, presentations, and e-learning modules to support effective learning.
  • Conduct needs assessments to tailor training programs to specific team requirements.
  • Monitor and track trainee progress, providing feedback and addressing any learning gaps.
  • Stay abreast of software updates and incorporate new features/workflows into training content.
  • Provide ongoing technical support to clients regarding software usage, adoption and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with the product development team to identify training needs and provide feedback on software usability.
  • Work with teams to ensure smooth onboarding and ongoing support for new employees.
  • Collaborate with local and remote team members in developing and implementing training solutions

REQUIRED CHARACTERISTICS:

Anduril is an extremely fast-paced defense technology startup that is rapidly scaling itself. Our culture is one of ambition, hard work, relentless pursuit of excellence, and deliberate disruption. The successful candidate will be one who demonstrates the follow core characteristics:

  • Bias for Action - they ask for forgiveness, not permission, and hate the idea of waiting around to be told what to do
  • Outcome-Oriented - they determine what benefits the business needs and work backwards from those outcomes. The antiquated IT concept of “system availability” is abhorrent to the ideal candidate, they care about if the business actually got value from their product, not if it was just made to specification
  • Customer Focused - they display user empathy to boost engagement and build experiences that delight
  • Strong Product Sense - they know when in the product’s lifecycle to focus on optimizing the end user experience and when to focus on enterprise-level functionality
  • Dive Deep - they sweat the details and roll up their sleeves to uncover the root causes for systemic issues, be it technical shortfalls or lack of user comprehension of a product
  • Ownership - they care deeply not just about their products, but for all the business outcomes that their systems supports as well, holding themselves accountable for everything it both does and fails to do
  • Agility - they change directions easily and without regret, quickly adapting to shifting business priorities
  • First Principles Thinking - they approach problems and develop solutions not based on what a vendor recommends or because it’s how they did things at their last job, but from a deep appreciation of what is best for the enterprise

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively convey technical information to diverse audiences
  • Strong understanding of engineering software applications (CAD, PLM, Analysis Tools etc.) and their functionalities
  • Ability to create engaging and interactive training materials
  • Experience in adult learning principles and instructional design
  • Technical proficiency with learning management systems (LMS)
  • 2+ yrs prior experience as a software trainer

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, or related field
  • 5+ yrs Prior experience as a software trainer or technical support role (pre- or post-sales engineering, etc.)
  • Proven ability to adapt to changing software versions and features
  • Experience with multinational companies composed of discrete business units with possibly disparate software and internal application requirements.
