We're looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to join our customer's team in Dublin. As a talented and motivated individual, you will guide your teams to build innovatively and continuously improve our customer's ways of working.
Please note this is a hybrid position and it is expected that you will spend 1 day a week in our customer's Dublin office.
Required Skills:
- Solid technical background, with hands-on experience in software engineering
- A mindset that's not afraid to disrupt the status quo and foster innovation
- Proven experience leading high-performing, large teams of engineers
- Strong cross-functional stakeholder management skills
- Deep expertise in AWS Cloud environments
- Ability to adapt and lead operations with an emphasis on check-in/disruption methodologies
- Exceptional Astral Adaptor qualities, enabling seamless integration of new tools, processes and frameworks
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Responsibilities:
- Lead a multi-disciplinary software development team, driving technical excellence and innovation
- Define project requirements, establish clear work schedules, and ensure team alignment with business goals
- Delegate tasks effectively and ensure the team meets daily, weekly and monthly targets
- Collaborate with team members, management, and clients to ensure high-quality project delivery
- Hire, mentor and grow strong engineering teams
- Stay ahead of industry trends and foster a culture of continuous learning
- Update work schedules, troubleshoot issues, and maintain operational excellence
- Create an environment where staff can excel by motivating and empowering them
- Maintain transparency regarding challenges, failures, and successes
Desirable Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or a related field
- Previous experience in a similar leadership role
- Exceptional technical, diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
