Bluesight is looking for an Engineering Manager to help us redefine and grow our suite of healthcare data products to further the company's mission of "Medication Intelligence". Our hospital and pharmacy customers rely on us to keep their patients safe and their pharmacies running smoothly while delighting them with every release. By streamlining their pharmacy's daily routines with our RFID inventory management solution and reducing risk and enhancing their compliance with our controlled substance tracking platform, we're committed to improving medication management for our nation's healthcare providers, and our data operations and products are the backbone of our offerings.
The Engineering Manager will lead a cross-functional team for our new drug compliance product. This drug program supports hospitals in vulnerable communities by managing prescription drug costs – our product maximizes its benefits. This role involves close collaboration with product and design teams to deliver a high-quality, scalable product while fostering a productive engineering environment focused on continuous improvement.
You can expect to:
- Leverage your engineering skills in helping the teams architect and build features of the product approximately 25-30% of the time.
- Work to unblock the team, while contributing to feature development.
- Participate in design and code reviews across the team’s projects.
- Manage and develop your team through hiring, coaching, and continuous improvement.
- Drive company, product, and team objectives.
- Establish standards of high quality work and acceptable coding standards.
- Manage and improve engineer support procedures.
- Solve meaningful problems for our Hospital customers
- Identify opportunities to optimize and modernize the technology stack
About you:
- Proven track record of leading a team to deliver results
- History of developing software at an enterprise level, including data pipelines
- Recent deep experience in ASP.NET MVC, Entity Framework, MySQL and AWS
- Knowledge of HTTP and REST API principles
- Knowledge of front-end componentization

- Prior experience as a senior software engineer and team leader
- Strong written and analytical skills
- Strong bias for action, documentation and education
- Ability to work through ambiguity with open communication and autonomy
- History of architecting, designing, and developing scalable production applications
- Solid understanding of software engineering best practices (code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, etc.)
- Empathy with your coworkers and our customers
- Experience leading remote teams (we are a fully remote team that meets in person as needed a few times a year)
Nice to have:
- Experience in AWS value-added services like Kinesis, Serverless etc.
- Knowledge of Electronic Health Records (EHR)
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
