The Role

Marigold Engage by Sailthru is looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead two of our product engineering teams responsible for key parts of the Sailthru product. These teams are new and have a specific mandate to focus on key areas of our messaging functionality and subscriber experiences. So there will be an opportunity to help us hire and build the teams up.

We're looking for someone that not only has a strong technical background, but good emotional intelligence to work with product and engineering staff to prioritize and oversee the continued development of our platform. You'll also be a key member of our technology leadership team, helping to improve the culture of the engineering team overall and operate the engineering department.

The role requires technical expertise, ideally either a devops or software engineering background, to help mentor and guide the engineers. We expect the bulk of your focus to be on partnering with product, delivery management and helping build good processes and practice for your teams.

What You'll Do

  • You will be part of the technology leadership team, helping to shape engineering policy, best practices, and drive the direction of the engineering organization.

  • You'll drive two agile, product-aligned continuously delivering teams to design, build, and maintain our marketing platform. You'll partner with our product management and UX teams to build a powerful, yet easy to use platform.

  • You'll own the technology strategy and long term technical roadmap for your part of the platform, working with Product to find the right balance of features and tech debt.

  • You'll be responsible for the long-term career growth and day-to-day feedback of your team members. You'll be responsible for ensuring that your team processes are efficient and add value, and facilitating discussions on best practices.

  • Be comfortable leading teams across a range of technologies including AWS, Java, Kubernetes, Kafka. Golang, PHP and frontend technologies including React.

  • Contribute to education, documentation and support for the broader organization, including interfacing with our Support and Customer Success teams. Use your expertise and experience to help make technical improvements and to establish best practices across the engineering organization.

  • Manage the on call rotation for the team and act as a senior escalation point for the team.

About You

  • You're someone who loves technology and cares deeply about the products you build and the customers who use them.

  • You have experience leading a team of engineers, providing your team members with day-to-day feedback, mentorship, and helping them with their career growth.

  • You have 5+ years experience building quality, production-grade systems, with a background in either software or infrastructure engineering.
