So if you love sports and their community-building potential, or building cool products is your sport, GameChanger is the team for you. We are a remote-first, dynamic tech company based in New York City, and we are solving some of the biggest challenges in youth sports today.

The Position:

At GameChanger, we are dedicated to delivering high-quality products and services to our customers, ensuring excellence across all stages of the development lifecycle. We are seeking a talented Quality Engineering Manager who is passionate about QA and has the expertise in automation to build out our new quality engineering team.

The team’s mission is to build developer-friendly test tooling, frameworks, dashboards, and processes that engineering teams could use to write, run, monitor and maintain tests covering their features, enabling efficient feedback. This team will own the automated testing pipeline from end-to-end, enhancing our testing capabilities and ensuring a scalable and resilient testing infrastructure.

As a Quality Engineering Manager, you will lead the establishment and management of a high-performing quality engineering team, fostering a collaborative environment and a positive culture. This role involves enabling testing and quality for cross-functional engineering teams, establishing and owning test frameworks and patterns/practices, reporting, test performance optimization, tooling, and scalable infrastructure, as well as improving the CI/CD and release processes. Understanding the pain points faced by our engineering teams, you will set a strategic roadmap to improve the developer testing experience to ensure quality outcomes. Additionally, you will collaborate with Quality Managers to develop quality performance indicators for the engineering org, providing opportunities for enhancements.

What You’ll Do:

  • Build and manage a high-performing quality engineering team from the ground up, providing hands-on developer or solutions architect, mentorship and career development.

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive quality engineering strategy to shift quality left, enabling efficient testing and feedback processes for the engineering team. Drive the vision for quality excellence across the organization.

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams and quality managers to ensure alignment on quality standards, and drive successful integration of test automation strategies throughout the product development life cycle

  • Collaborate with App/Server platform teams to ensure architecture patterns and practices support solid testing experience for developers

  • Promote best practices in test code quality, maintainability, and strategy

  • Continuously evaluate and adopt new technologies, tools, and industry trends

  • Lead the team in continuously improving performance, reliability, and scalability of automated testing frameworks

What You’ll Bring:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in quality engineering, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.

  • Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, techniques, and best practices for iOS/Android mobile native apps and back-end testing as well as CI/CD and release processes.

  • Strong background in developing and maintaining automated testing frameworks for mobile native and web applications. Experience in test automation development using Espresso (Kotlin), XCUI Test (Swift), and Playwright (Typescript)

  • Experience in building Quality Engineering team from scratch, and developing a strategy for shifting left quality

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills. Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams, fostering a culture of quality

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and build strong relationships, gathering developer feedback and adjusting the roadmap accordingly

  • Ability to develop and execute long-term strategies for quality engineering

Who You Are:

  • Passionate about quality and dedicated to ensuring the highest standards in testing

  • Detail-oriented

  • Proactive and lead by example, driving your team toward excellence

  • Critical thinker who seeks innovative ways to solve complex problems

Perks:
