This is an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Manager to join the team reporting to the Head of Engineering. We are looking for a leader with great technology expertise and a people-first approach who can also balance between product development and engineering excellence programs. Perpetual Digital is responsible for the design and build of software products, platform services and infrastructure across a variety of cloud technologies supporting the banking and finance industry. Perpetual Digital is Perpetual Corporate Trust’s innovation company, leveraging more than 20 years of experience and a market-leading position in Australian securitisation to deliver solutions to this sector. This team manages the Treasury Direct Intelligence (TDI) portfolio—an innovative, cloud-based SaaS platform for automated portfolio and investment management. TDI simplifies complex workflows, reduces human error, and connects investors and issuers with the market. Tailored for mid-market investors and financial services professionals, it offers:

About the Role

• Guide and mentor a dynamic team of software, data, and test engineers within an agile, collaborative environment (10-15 direct reports).

• Take ownership of key system components, leading the Design and Delivery of robust, high-quality solutions.

• Strategically oversee resource allocation, ensuring the team achieves both business targets and professional growth.

• Hands-on: write clean, efficient, and well-documented code that supports continuous integration and deployment, adhering to industry best practices.

• Translate solution designs into high-performing application code, optimised for scalability and reliability across platforms and devices.

• Manage and optimise Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines, driving automation for seamless deployments. Take responsibility for incident management within the team, ensuring consistent and timely resolution of system issues.

• Work closely with cross-functional agile teams to foster an engineering culture focused on rapid and iterative delivery of customer value.

• Champion continuous learning, offering professional development opportunities to empower your team.

• Inspire a culture of innovation and ongoing improvement among both internal engineers and external consultants.

About you

We’re looking for someone with:

• A “You build it, you own it!” mentality

• 4+ years of experience leading Engineering team(s)

• Strong leadership and influencing skills

• Sound experience in application architecture, design patterns and development practices

• Deep technical knowledge on ASP.NET Core, ASP.NET, C# and Entity Framework Core

• Experience working on Web application architecture, Blazor framework or Angular 11, Typescript, SCSS, HTML5 & CSS3

• Knowledge of Microsoft Azure, specifically App Service, API Management, Azure Functions, Service Bus, Azure SQL DB, T-SQL, Entity Framework Core, etc. Perpetual | TDI - Engineering Manager (Tech Lead).docx 2

• Experience with a variety of database management systems (SQL, NOSQL), data storage patterns, eventual consistency, data analytics, and reporting

• Demonstrated belief in TDD, unit, integration, performance, and end-to-end (functional) tests

• Experience building/consuming APIs using .NET Core

• Experience with DevOps and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) operations, tooling, and practices

It would be great to bring, but is not required to have:

• Basic knowledge of Financial Markets and good grasp of financial mathematics

• Has exposure to automation and continuous delivery

• An understanding of Microservices patterns.
