WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

As an Engineering Manager within our Marketplace Technology EMEA team, you will lead a team of engineers while partnering closely with product leaders, business stakeholders, and external technology partners.

You will work across multiple technology domains and business functions, helping define priorities, align stakeholders, and deliver solutions that span enterprise platforms, business processes, and organizational boundaries.

While this is a people leadership role, the Engineering Manager is expected to remain technically engaged, actively participating in solution design, architectural discussions, technical reviews, prototyping, and implementation support where appropriate.

You will report to engineering leadership and act as the primary technical and operational leader for the Marketplace Technology team.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

As Engineering Manager, you will combine strong people leadership with deep technical expertise. You will build and develop a high-performing engineering team while actively contributing to technical strategy, solution design, and delivery execution. We are looking for a leader who can quickly understand new business domains and solve complex problems that span systems, technologies, and organizational boundaries.

Success in this role requires strong engineering leadership, excellent stakeholder management skills, and the ability to translate business opportunities into scalable technical solutions.

  • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience

  • 3+ years of engineering leadership or people management experience

  • Experience building and delivering software solutions across multiple systems, platforms, and business domains

  • Proven experience leading engineers through the full software development lifecycle, from discovery and design through implementation and operational support

  • Strong understanding of enterprise architecture, integrations, APIs, event-driven systems, and end-to-end business process flows

  • Experience driving technical design decisions and solution architecture for complex initiatives

  • Experience implementing automation and integration solutions across enterprise technology landscapes

  • Experience applying AI technologies to improve engineering productivity, business processes, customer experiences, and organizational effectiveness

  • Familiarity with AI-enabled workflows, agent-based solutions, emerging AI development patterns, and modern AI-powered software engineering practices

  • Actively champions the adoption and effective use of AI-assisted engineering tools and workflows to improve delivery velocity, engineering productivity, code quality, innovation, and operational efficiency.

  • Comfortable contributing technically through design reviews, prototyping, troubleshooting, and implementation guidance

  • Possesses a founder's mindset, proactively identifying opportunities, challenging assumptions, and driving business and technology outcomes rather than simply executing assigned requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in ambiguous environments and rapidly changing priorities

  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and collaboration skills

  • Practical and outcome-oriented approach to solving complex business and technical problems

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

As an Engineering Manager, you will be accountable for the team's success across people, technology, and delivery.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Building, leading, and developing a high-performing team of software engineers

  • Creating an environment that promotes engineering excellence, continuous learning, innovation, and accountability

  • Creating a culture of ownership and entrepreneurial thinking, encouraging engineers to proactively identify opportunities, solve problems, and drive outcomes rather than operate as order takers

  • Partnering with business and technology stakeholders to identify opportunities where engineering can create measurable business value

  • Driving technical solution design and implementation approaches across multiple concurrent initiatives

  • Guiding architecture and technology decisions in collaboration with engineers and partner teams

  • Providing technical leadership for the development of integrations, automation capabilities, APIs, services, and AI-enabled business solutions

  • Driving the adoption of AI-enabled engineering practices and identifying opportunities to leverage AI technologies across software development, operations, and business-facing solutions

  • Building strong engineering practices focused on reliability, scalability, security, observability, maintainability, and operational excellence

  • Coaching and mentoring engineers and technical leaders to support their growth, career development, and technical capability

  • Driving delivery excellence by balancing business priorities, team health, technical quality, and long-term platform sustainability

  • Identifying strategic opportunities and helping shape the technology roadmap through proactive engagement with business and technology partners

Like all engineering teams, we operate using modern software engineering practices including agile delivery, DevOps, automation, testing, monitoring, AI-assisted development, and continuous improvement. We expect leaders to embrace and champion the effective use of AI tools and technologies as an integral part of modern engineering and product delivery.

Applications will be accepted until 3rd October 2026. We encourage external candidates to apply as soon as possible, as the posting may close earlier if we receive a sufficient number of applications.
