Who are we looking for?Reporting to our Head of Product, Engineering and Design, we are looking for a technical Engineering Lead to lead our Integrations Engineering team of 8 Engineers. Integrations Engineering is responsible for scaling Pinwheel’s core payroll connectivity products (Deposit Switch, Income & Employment Verification, Taxes) while bringing new products (Bill Navigator) to market. You’ll be in the code every day, while also playing a critical role in setting direction and priorities for your team. You’ll lead, coach, and grow the team to deliver value for our customers while keeping our systems reliable, secure, and performant.
What will you do?- Write code every day to support and expand Pinwheel’s connectivity products - including PreMatch, our partnerships with payroll providers
- Lead, coach, and enable a stellar team of engineers to drive growth, ownership, and impact
- Collaborate with Product to shape our product roadmap
- Prioritize work to maximize the impact of your team
- Build a powerhouse team through coaching, career development, and hiring
- Be accountable for your team’s results
- Help enhance our great engineering culture
- Identify headcount needs for the team and recruit high-caliber engineering talent
- 1+ years as a tech lead or engineering manager
- 5+ years as a software engineer
- Experience with login, authentication, bot detection and SSO a big +
- Track record of shipping products that drive business impact
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

At Pinwheel, total compensation is made up of salary + equity + benefits. We recruit motivated and high performing talent, and work to compensate people in line with the value they can bring to the organization in delivering outsized results. The talent market is competitive, and maintaining our ability to recruit and retain the best team possible is a top priority for Pinwheel. When creating an offer, we consider interview performance, candidate experience, external market competitiveness, and internal equity in thoughtfully assessing compensation. The expected cash salary range for this role is $190,000 - $220,000 base.
