We are looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to build and lead a high-impact team of Solutions Engineers. This team will play a critical role in accelerating game development with external studios, providing engineering support for top and emerging experiences on Roblox. This is an internal leadership position where you’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive performance, optimize experiences, and push the boundaries of our technology.
You Will:
- Build, mentor, and lead a team of Solutions Engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
- Provide ongoing engineering support for leading Roblox experiences, ensuring strong technical partnerships with key external developers.
- Scale engineering support efforts in alignment with team growth, adapting to the evolving needs of our developer community.
- Engage deeply with select strategic games that challenge the limits of our engine, driving innovation in key genres.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align engineering efforts with broader company goals and initiatives.
You Have:
- 8+ years of engineering experience with at least 3+ years in a technical leadership or management role.
- Proven success in building and scaling engineering teams, ideally within gaming, platform, or developer tools environments.
- Strong technical background with a solid understanding of performance optimization in multiplayer networked games, large-scale systems, and game development workflows.
- Experience with game development is required. Roblox experience is preferred.
- Experience leading a solutions engineering team is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and external partners.
- A passion for solving complex problems and driving technical excellence.
For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits as described on this page.
Roles that are based in an office are onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional presence on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
