The Opportunity

Adobe has enabled creative professionals to do their best work for decades. Now we're expanding our audience to empower everyone to express their stories. When we say Creativity for All, we mean it. Creative Cloud Express is a next-generation content creation platform used by millions of individuals, small businesses, social media marketers, students, and educators who want a fast, fun, and frictionless solution to media creation and sharing.

We're looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead our Android application team to enable anyone to author content like a pro.

What you'll do

  • As the engineering manager for the Android Express development team, you will lead development of features in our hybrid web/native code application.

  • Empower the team to make feature decisions and development tradeoffs. Verify progress and make course corrections where needed.
  • Manage a Quality Engineering team consisting of QE leads and vendor QE based manual testers. Promote processes for continual quality assurance of features even after they have shipped.
  • Shepherd work as it progresses towards signoff. Find and remove impediments. Coordinate with Localization, Data Science, dependent feature teams, and collaborators.
  • Mentor team members. Plan for and support their career growth.
  • Propose and implement process changes to scale the overall velocity of the team
  • Provide clear insight into development status and platform health to executive leadership. Facilitate investigations into emerging issues in collaboration with the larger Express organization.
  • Work both independently and collaboratively within a fast paced development team, with clear, positive, and constructive communication.

What you need to succeed

  • Based in San Francisco or Seattle
  • 4+ years of experience as an engineering manager or similar leadership role.
  • Proven experience shipping commercial mobile applications, as well as managing emerging issues and escalations from the field.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Technical Skills:
  • Experience in software development with a deep understanding of developer tools and processes, the software development lifecycle, and agile methodologies
  • Familiarity with modern development tools and environments (e.g., Git, Jenkins, CI/CD, automation frameworks and tools).
  • Understanding of cloud platforms and services (e.g., AWS, Azure).
  • Leadership Skills:
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills.
  • Ability to inspire, motivate, and develop team members.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-Solving:
  • Ability to navigate complex technical and organizational challenges.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience developing native mobile applications on both iOS and Android
  • Experience managing remote vendor QE
  • Knowledge of software security and privacy best practices
  • Background in DevX practices and principles.
