We are looking for a person to lead the App Productivity and Distribution team, responsible for delivery of the Roblox app to a variety of app stores, including Apple App Store, Google Play Store, PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, and Meta Quest store. This team also supports engineering efficiency for Lua developers inside Roblox. The team currently has 6 engineers, including two principal engineers. The team collaborates closely with Roblox Engine build and release teams.

The App Productivity and Distribution team is a part of the Platform Orchestration team which includes app release among its responsibilities. In this role you will report to the Senior Engineering Manager leading Platform Orchestration.

You will:

  • Take responsibility for the full CI, build and distribution pipeline for Roblox’s Lua app, enjoyed by over 70 million active daily users world-wide.
  • Ensure reliable weekly updates to Roblox apps in all the major app stores.
  • Support growth of 6 engineers, from junior to principal.
  • Work with Roblox Engine build and release teams to optimize the overall release process.
  • Drive development of key tools used by Lua developers inside Roblox.

You have:

  • 10 years of software development experience.
  • 3+ years as a manager, including managing teams of at least 5 people.
  • Experience managing the process for shipping high profile mobile apps distributed via Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
  • A strong eye for process improvement.
  • Ability to collaborate with a large number of partner teams.

For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits.

Annual Salary Range

$283,780$331,640 USD

Roles that are based in our San Mateo, CA Headquarters are in-office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional in-office on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
