What to expectPeople Leadership: Lead and mentor a small, high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration, trust, and learning.
Hands-on Guidance: Stay connected to the codebase and architecture (Python, React, TypeScript, Postgres, AWS Lambda) through hands-on work while supporting your team in making sound technical decisions.
Project Delivery: Own the planning and execution of projects, ensuring on-time, high-quality results while navigating trade-offs.
Process Improvement: Implement and refine best practices in development, code review, and deployment to make us better every sprint.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with product, design, and business stakeholders to align engineering output with company goals.
Talent Development: Help your team grow their skills through coaching, feedback, and development opportunities.
Leadership Experience: 1–2 years leading engineers (team lead, tech lead, or early-stage manager).
Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of Python, Postgres, AWS (or GCP, Azure etc.)
Project Execution: Proven ability to deliver complex software projects successfully.
People Skills: Passion for helping engineers grow and perform at their best.
Strategic Awareness: Ability to balance technical excellence with product and business priorities.
Communication: Able to explain complex ideas clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
Language Skills: Fluent in English (German a plus).
Startup or scale-up experience.
Experience with AWS serverless architectures.
Data-driven decision-making.
Familiarity with Agile, OKRs, and modern engineering processes.
