Roblox is seeking a highly skilled Ads Engineering Manager to lead the Ads Modeling Team, driving innovation in ad technologies and advancing the capabilities of our advertising platform. In this role, you'll oversee a team of talented engineers responsible for developing cutting-edge models and systems that optimize ad performance, relevancy, and engagement. This includes innovation in large models, user sequence modeling, representation learning, new ads engagement objective modeling, and many more advancements to the ML models that power ads ranking.
As an engineering leader, you will collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and stakeholders to deliver scalable, efficient solutions that enhance both advertiser ROI and user experience while maintaining Roblox's commitment to safety and ethical practices.
Roblox Ads is one of the company’s newest and fastest-growing teams, dedicated to revolutionizing advertising in the immersive metaverse. You Will:
- Manage and grow the ML engineering team, providing technical vision and long-term roadmap.
- Design features and build large-scale machine learning models to improve ads prediction and ranking models
- Evaluate the technical tradeoffs of key decisions and technical roadmap
- Mentor and grow ML engineers to allow them to become experts in ads modeling and prediction.
You Have:
- M.S or PhD degree in Computer Science, Statistics or related field
- Strong understanding of ML approaches and algorithms, and their applications to advertising or recommendation
- Experience working with ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch or related frameworks
- 7+ years of machine learning experience in industry.
- 1-3 years of experience managing engineering teams focusing on advertising applications as TLM or EM or leading key projects as TL.
- Cross-functional collaborator and strong communicator
For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits.
Annual Salary Range
$338,270—$391,590 USD
Roles that are based in our San Mateo, CA Headquarters are in-office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional in-office on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
