We are seeking a highly skilled Ad Product Engineering Manager to lead the Ad Product Squad in creating and maintaining both standard and custom ad products, optimizing advertiser offers, and ensuring technical excellence.

The salary for this role ranges from $150,000 to $190,000 annually, depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location, with bonus opportunities.


WHAT YOU’LL TACKLE

  • Ad Product Development: Lead the Ad Product Squad in creating and maintaining ad products that maximize sales and revenue, including standard and custom ad creatives and distribution methods (e.g., API feeds).
  • Sales Solutions: Design and implement flexible ad features and payout types to expand business opportunities while ensuring technical feasibility.
  • Data Solutions: Develop and maintain data solutions supporting advertiser operations, including ad data tracking and advertiser onboarding processes.


HOW YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT

As the Ad Product Engineering Manager, you’ll mentor and manage a team of engineers, driving the design, development, and deployment of innovative ad solutions. You will be accountable for executing your team’s roadmap and delivering robust solutions that enhance advertising effectiveness. Specific initiatives you will oversee include:

  • Native Solutions: Develop and implement innovative native ad solutions.
  • Creative Ad Units: Enhance flexibility and performance of creative ad units.
  • Flows and New Placements: Optimize user flows and introduce new ad placements to improve visibility and engagement.
  • Next Generation Funnels: Manage the transition of existing systems to next-generation solutions.

You will also work closely with product managers to prioritize technical and resource challenges within your team, balancing the need for speed with the importance of quality and correctness in all deliverables. Instilling a culture of continuous improvement will be essential as you guide your team in enhancing code quality, architecture, and processes while mentoring good technologists.


WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Experience:

  • 6-8+ years in software engineering, specifically in ad tech or digital advertising solutions, with at least 2 years in a leadership role with direct reports.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in Python programming, with a strong understanding of Python libraries and frameworks relevant to data processing and web development (e.g., Flask, Django, Pandas).
  • At least 2 years of professional engineering experience at a fast-paced company under 200 people.
  • Experience with ad serving platforms and native advertising solutions.
  • Familiarity with data pipeline development and ad performance tracking.

Skills:

  • Proven ability to prioritize projects and deliver results on time, even in fast-paced environments.
  • A passion for technical excellence while balancing time-to-market considerations.
  • Solutions-oriented mindset, with the ability to overcome obstacles efficiently.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, promoting collaboration and shared success within teams.
  • Commitment to Agile processes and methodologies, with the ability to manage roadmaps, sprints, and deployments.
  • Passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, and mentoring other engineering community members, occasionally coding or evaluating code.
  • History of instilling a culture of continuous improvement in a team’s code, architecture, and processes.
