Engineering Manager, Machine Learning - Bot Defense

WHY Bot Defense?
At Roblox, we believe that Safety and Civility are fundamental to fostering a vibrant, creative community. The bot defense pod within the Account identity team has a mission to keep Roblox secure from sophisticated bot attacks and bad actors. We apply advanced ML techniques for detection and scaled distributed systems to challenge and  mitigate malicious bot activity in near real-time across all Roblox surfaces. You will help improve the Roblox experience by combating bad actors on the platform. If you are passionate about solving hard problems in the adversarial space using innovative solutions in a scalable and high impact platform, then this is the team for you. 

You will be leading the vision for Roblox’s bot defense building our next-generation bot defense platform and innovative ML techniques.

You Will:

• Help define team’s roadmap and long term strategy to have best-in-class bot defense strategy
• Build real time and offline data pipelines and ML models for detection and mitigation for evolving bot behavior
• Design highly scalable and reliable systems and APIs used by every team at Roblox
• Empower innovation by pushing your team to discover creative and pragmatic solutions to the problem areas you've defined
• Scale your team's impact by mentoring them individually to grow in their careers as well bringing in top talent

You Have:

• Equivalent experience or a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or a related field, with a minimum of 3+ years of people management experience 
• 7+ years of hands-on experience in large-scale software development with experience delivering highly performant solutions.
• 7+ years of experience building large-scale ML systems at consumer-facing company
• Experience in anti-fraud, anti-abuse, anti-cheat, trust & safety, or risk is a plus.
• Strong mathematical, statistical methods experience
• Programming experience in one compiled (C++, C#, Java) and one interpreted script language (JS, PHP, Python, Lua, etc)
• Collaboration skills across multiple teams and disciplines
