If you are passionate about technology and thrive in a dynamic environment, we want you on our team! Fliff is seeking a skilled Engineering Lead to join our growing team. You’ll lead a small team of engineers while still contributing significantly as an individual contributor.
The Role
- Lead a team of ~4 engineers, providing technical guidance and support
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance distributed systems using Python and Django
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
- Architect and implement scalable solutions to handle large volumes of traffic
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
- Optimize backend systems for maximum performance, scalability, and reliability
- Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure software quality and reliability
- Mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and provide career development guidance
- Balance technical leadership and management duties with individual coding responsibilities
Experience Required
- 5+ years of overall software development experience
- Experience leading small teams or mentoring junior engineers
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and microservices
- Proficiency in Python and Django
- Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka in a production environment
- Experience using AWS or another cloud provider
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
