Meet Our Team: The Core Shared Services (Earlier referred as CFOSS) was created with the objective to centralize related platforms, services, and expertise required by multiple The Core (Earlier referred as CF&O) divisions to realize efficiencies and uniform solutions. 

The team’s core priorities include:

  1. Improving workflow efficiencies and governance through the systemization and automation of financial metrics and associated limits.
  2. Accelerating the adoption of Cloud and Core Engineering solutions.
  3. Establishing positions data quality, accountability and lineage.
  4. Developing unified data models across assessment platforms and ensure they meet regulatory and internal Risk & Compliance management requirements.
  5. Support the development of analytic calculations and data transformations.

This VP Software Engineer role is for a professional who is passionate about bringing business impact through digital transformation and deployment of scalable and reliable software solutions.

The Core divisions have a large footprint of software applications to ensure the firm complies with the controls set forth in its policies and risk appetite, meet its regulatory obligations, and to protect the firm’s reputation. To meet the demand of the business, drive by the size and complexity of the entire firm, the candidate will have the mandate to continuously increase the level of automation and to modernize and consolidate our software stacks. In addition, data is at the center of what we do. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experiences in and a passion for solving critical problems related to data quality, warehousing, and analytics.

HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL (RESPONSIBILITIES)

  • Work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment that provides exposure to all areas of Finance
  • Build strong relationships with business partners
  • Understand business needs, facilitating and developing process workflow, data requirements, and specifications required to support implementation
  • Develop technical specifications, high level/detailed design, testing strategies, and implementation plans from business requirements
  • Define and govern scalable, secure, and cost-optimized architecture  
  • Leverage AI tools, i.e Devin, Claude etc to improve development efficiency and innovation 
  • Ensure strong cloud governance including security, compliance, and cost control
  • Manage end-to-end systems development cycle from requirements analysis, coding, testing, UAT and maintenance
  • Exploring new and emerging technologies as needed by the project.
  • Drive program execution, manage risks, dependencies, and stakeholder expectations 
  • Collaborate with business leaders to align technology with strategic goals 

SKILLS AND RELEVANT EXPERIENCE 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical discipline
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in software development, including a clear understanding of data structures, algorithms, software design, core programming concepts and experiences with continuous delivery and deployment, preferably 2+ years of experience with AWS services. 
  • Deep understanding of cloud architecture, distributed systems, and system design
  • Strong problem solver, organized and able to work in a fast-paced environment with delivery focus as part of a global team
  • Exposure to AI/ML tools and modern engineering practices preferred
  • Excellent communicator who is comfortable engaging stakeholders, both verbally and written
  • Preferably experienced in managing small to mid-size teams
  • Strong programming experience in at least one compiled language (e.g. Java, C++, python)
  • Full Stack experience with industry standard frameworks and tools (e.g. React, SpringBoot, DropWizard, Maven, Web/RESTful service development)
  • Knowledge of relational and columnar SQL databases, including database design
