Role Overview
Virtium is seeking an Electrical/Computer Engineering Intern to support product characterization, validation, and testing for our industrial SSD, memory, and embedded computing solutions. This internship is ideal for a current college student who is interested in hardware engineering, embedded systems, test engineering, and real-world product development.
The intern will work onsite with senior design engineers, test engineers, technical marketing, production engineering, and field applications engineering to characterize product performance, run directed tests, analyze results, and document findings. This role provides meaningful hands-on exposure to engineering tools, lab work, test scripting, technical reporting, and cross-functional collaboration.
Role Responsibilities
- Support power and thermal characterization of Virtium SSD and industrial memory products.
- Assist with engineering validation, directed testing, and product performance analysis.
- Create clear, accurate test reports that summarize results, observations, and next steps.
- Develop, update, and run test scripts to support product characterization and validation.
- Partner with field applications engineering to support customer-required test activities.
- Work cross-functionally with design engineering, test engineering, production engineering, technical marketing, and applications teams.
- Document issues, organize data, and communicate findings in a clear and professional manner.
Required Qualifications
- Current college student pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Embedded Systems, or a related technical field.
- Basic understanding of electrical engineering, computer engineering, hardware, or embedded systems concepts.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
- Comfortable working with technical data, test results, and engineering teams.
- Detail-oriented, curious, coachable, and eager to learn in a hands-on environment.
- U.S. work authorization required. Visa Sponsorship is not offered at this time.
Preferred Qualifications
- Coursework, projects, or lab experience related to circuits, computer architecture, embedded systems, storage, memory, firmware, or hardware testing.
- Exposure to scripting or programming such as Python, C, C++, or similar tools.
- Experience using lab equipment or engineering tools for testing, measurement, or data collection.
- Interest in industrial hardware, SSDs, memory, Edge AI, embedded computing, or high-reliability technology products.
- Minimum GPA of 3.2 preferred.

- Compensation: $20–$23 per hour, based on qualifications and experience
