The Role
The Engineering Internship involves exposure to manufacturing processes, safety, project management, and working collaboratively to optimize production through analysis and troubleshooting.

In this role a student will be exposed to a challenging manufacturing environment and will work with multiple aspects of the production process including root cause analysis, process troubleshooting, and process optimization, while learning about safety, process operations, process chemistry, meeting timelines, and project management. Students will be given assignments consistent with company goals and work with all levels of staff to develop and implement solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure and promote plant safety in all operations and activities
- Learn plant processes and support updates to P&IDs and PI Vision displays
- Assist in developing projects to maintain and improve equipment, production, yield, safety, and operability
- Contribute to the creation and revision of operating procedures
- Prepare and deliver a presentation summarizing completed projects to management
Required Education
- Completion of Junior college year in Chemical Engineering (preferred) or Mechanical Engineering
Required Skills & Abilities
- Microsoft Office / word processing / spreadsheet / presentation software proficiency.
- Basic chemistry lab experience
- Ability to collaborate with plant personnel – operations, lab, maintenance, engineering, and management.
- Collaborative, Critical Thinking, Creative, Detail Oriented
- Ability to follow Good Manufacturing Practices including the proper wearing of clean protective clothing, following personal hygiene standards, and adherence to food/drink/tobacco restrictions
Assignment Duration
- Internship: 8-10 weeks
- Co-op: 1+ semesters
- 2-3 days/week (15-20 hours)
Compensation & Benefits

- Learn and use software (AutoCAD LT, PI Vision, PipeFLO)
