Engineering Intern - Summer 2026

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an Engineering Intern – Summer 2026 to join our Richland, WA office.

• Perform engineering design reviews, including reviewing technical drawings, and design documents, as well as summarizing findings in design review reports.
• Attend design review meetings, take detailed notes, and document key decisions.
• Conduct basic engineering analyses and calculations to support design evaluations.
• Assist with cost estimating, including researching prices for equipment based on specifications.
• Assists with document production and control including PEP’s, schedules, minutes, field reports and presentations
• Performs data acquisition and analysis, researching the feasibility of alternative design approaches, site conditions, and/or regulatory agency specifications or regulations.
• Prepares material for reports and permit applications, gathering information, writing rough outline, and/or preparing work progression documents and graphic presentations.

• EXPERIENCE:
  • No experience is generally required if accepted into an Associate's or Bachelor's degree program in a related technical field.
• EDUCATION:
  • Must have completed 60 hours towards a civil or mechanical engineering degree from an ABET accredited program by the start of the internship (Summer 2026).
• SPECIAL SKILLS:
  • Experience with SolidWorks or AutoCAD preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with structural analysis software is a bonus
  • Willing to work a 4/10 schedule

Expected compensation range is between $25 - $31 hourly depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
