STV currently has an opening in Charlotte, NC for an Engineering Director/Senior Project Manager in our Transportation and Infrastructure division. This position offers excellent potential for career advancement and growth as this individual would be working with senior leaders to advance STV’s ability to deliver projects in our Atlantic District inclusive of North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and Maryland. The ideal candidate is an individual who desires to lead a team, displays confidence, and possesses a vast understanding of project management and design principles.
Responsibilities:
Lead and manage major infrastructure projects from planning through design and into construction.
Lead project team meetings and report up to STV executive management regarding status.
Provide guidance and oversight to technical engineering staff ranging from junior to senior level.
Work closely with other project managers and group leads to plan resources and manage internal workshare.
Assist in developing client capture plans and pursuit win plans, proposals, and other business development and client engagement activities.
Participating in interviews and presentations to the client for pursuits and projects.
Develop and enhance client relationships and deliver quality projects on-time, within budget and to the satisfaction of the client.
Manage all project aspects; scope development, qualifications and proposals, presentations, contract negotiations, design scope, budget, scheduling, staff management and coordinating work efforts, cost estimating, bidding support, construction administration, cost control, project communications and documentation, and cash management.
Administer relevant aspects of a formal quality program.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (minimum) in Civil Engineering is required.
A Professional Engineer license in NC, or ability to obtain with reciprocity.
Minimum of 25 years of experience in managing and designing transportation infrastructure projects.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
Ability to perform project management responsibilities, working independently and in coordination with other team members and Project Managers.
Ability to manage multiple projects with multiple clients at varying stages of design/construction completion, $10+ million.
Proficient with Open Roads Designer experience.
Familiarity with AASHTO design standards.
Municipal or North Carolina DOT experience required.
Design Build project experience a plus.
Compensation Range:
