VP, Worldwide Solutions Engineering: Pre-Sales

Acquia is seeking a Vice President to lead the global Solutions Engineering leadership team and support of our rapidly growing business worldwide. 

The ideal candidate has a strong background and proven success in Pre-sales, specifically in one of the areas such as Web Content Management, Marketing Automation and Technology, Customer Data Platforms and eCommerce. You have an entrepreneurial mindset, are a master communicator, a trusted advisor, and an Acquia evangelist, developing relationships and strong technical solutions that meet customer’s business needs. 

Summary: 

Acquia's Solutions Engineers interact with potential customers in all sectors - from startups to large enterprises across industries, and with all levels of government. Solution Engineers help prospects understand their requirements, prove value of the Acquia solutions via demonstrations, ROI assessments and workshops to secure a technical and business win for the customers. As the global leader for this team you will be responsible for the success of the Solution Engineering function that includes Field SEs, the SE Associate program and a demo team. You will hire, enable and onboard your team and leaders, proactively manage technical blockers within deals and empower your team to high performance

You will also act as a key conduit between Sales leadership and Product engineering, presenting solutions to problems you identified. In addition to your management duties you will contribute to the individual goals by leading pre-sales engagements with customers and researching plus presenting Acquia solutions. 

Your passion and diligence for delivering value will be the guide supporting the worldwide sales team to close more, bigger deals faster!

Job Requirements:

Essential: 

  • Travel as needed
  • Experience managing a team of Solutions Engineers and leading leaders
  • Experience managing the hiring process for open roles within the team to the required hiring plan. 
  • Exceptional storytelling, whiteboarding, presentation, and demonstration skills 
  •  Experience developing customized presentations, demonstrations and prototypes to prove a solution's business value to C level customers 
  • Strong problem-solving skills, curiosity, intelligence, initiative, and the ability to thrive under pressure
