Join us as a Sr Engineering Manager leading the Traffic team at Walmart Global Tech. The Traffic team is a crucial, high-visibility team . The traffic team manages a multi-layered global traffic routing platform that intelligently routes all ecommerce web traffic and connects cloud powered stores to the cloud. The capability offers helps Walmart delivery customer value by providing fastest & highly available use experience. This organization owns the vision, strategy, roadmap, life cycle processes for delivering s calable solutions.
We work in a hybrid cloud environment where we manage and build custom load balancers using eBPF , L7 proxies (Torbit) and service mesh . We interact with external companies like CDNs and public cloud providers, and we also interact with many other teams inside Walmart that use our services. As a technical manager you will have a great deal of autonomy to drive the future of crucial traffic infrastructure for one of the largest eCommerce companies in the world! • Leading and monitoring the definition, design, delivery of Traffic team offering to business partners to maximize usefulness and impact for the organization.
• Teaching and creating a culture of automation, testing, and engineering best-practices
• Creating a better customer experience by improving automation, performance, quality, and system observability

• Working cross-functionally across the engineering and platform organizations as well as with internal and external stakeholders. Collaborating with others on security, reliability, and automation.

What you'll bring...

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• 10+ years of experience in engineering, support, and innovative infrastructure development
• A leader who has managed and built highly functional teams supporting business critical services.
• Strong hands-on knowledge in technology leadership of conceptualizing, incubating, and building Platforms that scale & are fully automated
• A solid understanding of modern network systems layers and technologies
• Comfortable working with system l evel programing. Having experience in Golang will be big plus.
• Familiarity with traffic routing technologies - CDN , Load balancers, L7 proxies (envoy, nginx ), service mesh ( istio , linkerd ) , WASM, terraform, ansible, grafana , metrics , apigee . Experience with eBPF would be plus.
• Experience with running infrastructure solutions across private and public cloud environments ( A zure, GCP , AWS )
