What's the role?
As a technical, full-stack Test Engineer, your job is to work within our CX (Client Experience) application. CX is a web portal of various applications used by our clients to achieve financial security. Test Engineers at NM are heavily involved with the agile development process and work cross-functionally with product, design, and development experts to paint a clear picture of end-state and delivery expectations. As a "full-stack" Test Engineer, you are someone who demonstrates strong appreciation and skill in manual and automation testing. You will be under the mentorship of a team with an already-established, mature testing process, and should have a solid foundational knowledge of JavaScript or a similar scripting language (time and training is allotted after hiring to learn our automation framework).
Role Responsibilities:
- Define, develop, and evolve test strategies to guide test design and execution.
- Lead product release testing and help with release process.
- Lead and automate end-to-end UI, API, and performance tests.
- Coordinate with Product Managers to get appropriate requirements needed for testing.
- Coordinate with DevOps teams to set up test environments.
- Manage and maintain health of nightly regression CI/CD pipelines.
- Develop useful test coverage documentation.
- Build and maintain various test metrics/artifacts (requirements vs test cases vs defects).
- Track bugs and confer with developers or functional resources to prioritize for resolution.
Your general milestones are the following:
First Month:
- Understand CX application, business workflows, and data flow.
- Learn automation framework.
- Build new automation scripts.
- Review test results of nightly automation pipelines and report issues.
Up to three months:
- Independently automate test scripts.
- Build all required test artifacts for various Metrics Report Defects and related reports.
Bring your best! What this role needs:
- 3+ years of experience with one or more programming languages such as JavaScript, Java, or Python (JavaScript preferred).
- 2+ years of web-based application testing and automation test case creation
- Manual API Testing experience using Rest API & Postman
- Automation knowledge of Cucumber, JavaScript, NodeJS, JSON, CICD, Selenium, WebDriver.io
- Experience with Jira and Xray or similar test management suites a plus
