Job Description:
Responsible for building and leading a team to deliver technology products and services that meet business outcomes. Ensures development of team through coaching, mentoring, feedback, and hands-on career development. Develops a technology strategy and ensures technology solutions comply with applicable standards. Advances modern, Agile solution delivery practices and evangelizes great design, engineering and organizational practices. Accountable for team level resource and financial management; builds and maintains teams through talent acquisition. Sets maturity objectives and enables individuals/teams to with training & resources to achieve them. Sets and tracks quality and performance objectives. Facilitates performance and career development of individuals through performance reviews, coaching, and building individual development plans that are needed to develop competencies and skills. Understands individual and team maturity and performance through team/client feedback. Manages relationships with business and technology partners. Accountable for solution delivery as relevant to their teams. Accountable to ensure all relevant risk, financial, and compliance polices and standards are met. Accountable for the application performance in production (app health, resiliency, performance, security, enterprise data management standards, audit exams and reviews). Contributes to the technology strategy for their technical domain. Ensures that execution is aligned with product strategy by working with Product Management, Product Owners, and other stakeholders. Creates an inclusive and healthy working environment, and helps to resolve organizational impediments/blockers. Leads and creates followership in Communities of Practice in the organization. Manages a team.

Overview:
Manages design, configuration, and implementation for a large or several small to medium systems. Deals with most difficult or complex systems and generates new design ideas. Interfaces with business areas to ensure all initiatives support business strategies and goals. Primary liaisons with vendors, consultants and Sr Tech Mgrs. Responsible for staffing, performance management and compensation decision making. Ensures proper training and staffing on an on-going and project basis. Typically 7 or more years of systems experience.

Responsibilities:
Technical lead for multiple agile teams responsible for CashPro web services and APIs. Provides technology and architectural direction as well as hands-on development responsibilities. Seeks opportunities to consolidate, simplify and enable self-service. Evaluates existing applications to determine technical changes, schedules projects, resources, and monitors project timelines. Oversees feasibility researches, estimates project timeline and cost. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets.

Required Skills:

  • 7+ years of experience in Java/J2EE
  • 5+ years of experience working in one of the following J2EE app server: WebLogic, WebSphere, JBOSS EAP 7.1
  • Expertise in transaction management and clean understanding of concepts such as XA transactions/last phase commit, connection pooling, multi-threading and JMS
  • 5+ years of experience in working with spring. Expert in spring frameworks
  • Familiar with micro service architecture and principles of 12 factor app
  • Expert in basic rest principles and resource oriented architecture
  • Expert in Mybatis and an ORM framework such as hibernate
  • Familiar with cache solutions such as coherence or JBoss Data Grid preferred. Required, expertise with JCache APIs and basic caching/eviction principles
  • 3+ years of work experience in an Agile environment
  • Work history of participating in daily agile routines and estimation of stories with minimal direction
  • Practical experience with performance tuning
  • Identifying a memory leak, connection leak. Understanding of memory dump, thread dump, query plans
