Technical Engineering Manager

Over the last 5 years we’ve grown from 0 to 18M active users and taken over the rewards game in the US with our free app. The foundation has been laid. In the next 5 years we will become a global platform that completely transforms how people connect with brands.

The Role:

As an Engineering Leader, you will support the self-development and career growth of individuals, as well as foster a supportive, inclusive, and collaborative environment in which people do their best work.  You’ll be working on a small, multi-functional team that may include other engineers, a designer, product manager, data scientist and other roles. 

Your Responsibilities:

• Manage the career path and goals of individual engineers, conducting regular 1-on-1s and providing coaching/feedback
• Serve as a resource to your team members, unblocking them and helping them work through issues they are facing
• Work with Product Managers and lead engineers as needed to ensure teams have the resources they need
• Coordinate with other leaders in the Tech organization to develop a hiring strategy and deliver on staffing needs
• Build a deep understanding of the technical architecture
• You will be expected to build the technical solutions, you will need to challenge technical solutions

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering or relevant field of study
• In-depth experience architecting, delivering, and operating large scale, highly available systems
• Required: 5+ years' experience building backend API centric software solutions
• Proven experience in growing teams and leading successful projects
• Familiarity with enterprise asynchronous system architecture and scaling
• Strong expertise with Object Oriented back end languages / technologies such as: Go, Java, Scala, Python, etc.
• A strong understanding of database technologies
• Experience in a fast paced, Agile, continuous integration environment
