As a Tableau Developer at Buildertrend, your primary focus will be doing exploratory data analysis to identify opportunities for improvement based on insights drawn from data, as well as customer-facing analytics to provide insights to the end-user of our product. You will also work in a cross-functional team with a mix of Data Engineers, Software Engineers, Product Marketers, Company Leaders, and Revenue stakeholders to drive innovation and technical solutions into the business as well as deliver analytics to our external customers. Data Analysts will help us discover insights hidden in vast amounts of data and help us make smarter decisions to deliver an even better product for our customers.
Responsibilities
- Build and Design dashboards for external customers
- Collaborate with company leadership to understand business needs and devise possible solutions
- Work closely with the revenue team to create fully-customized analytics for our external customers
- Glean insights from a large data set using SQL and present those insights in an understandable way
- Create real-time and ad-hoc reports and dashboards for business leaders as means of sharing findings
- Perform ad-hoc analysis and respond to data/analytical requests
- Keep up-to-date with the latest data science trends, share learnings with the team and apply to daily project work
Qualifications
- Proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server and knowledge of other database platforms
- Extensive experience with BI tooling (Tableau experience is preferred)
- Extensive background in statistical analysis
- Good applied statistics skills, such as distributions, statistical testing, regression, etc
- Able to understand various data structures and common methods in data transformation
- R/Python programming experience is a plus
- Strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on product development
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across teams
- A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques
