Seeking an experienced and highly motivated Project Engineer with mission experience to work within an integrated program office of Air Force, Aerospace, SE&I, SETA, and contractors across the Evolved Strategic SATCOM (ESS) system. Candidate will apply systems engineering expertise in support of system engineering, integration, and test strategies for prototyping, development, and fielding phases of the program, ensuring synchronization and integration of government, ESS segment contractors, and other strategic stakeholders.
What You'll Be Doing
- Serving as advisor to the customer and ESS SEIT Leads formulating, evaluating, and overseeing understanding of system requirements and system engineering practices.
- Applying systems engineering, requirements, test and validation best practices to assist the customer in development of acquisition documents required for RFP release for Space, Ground, and Crypto acquisition efforts.
- Support requirements definition for the ESS System including development, coordination, and approval of the Capability Development Document (CDD), System Requirements Document (SRD), and Ground Requirements Document (GRD)
- Provide insight to Aerospace leadership and the customer on risks, issues, opportunities and associated mitigation strategies and corrective actions.
- Develop and/or conduct mission trades between segments and products for system-level design reviews.
- Maintaining effective working relationships with customer leadership, contractors, ETG and other supporting contractors.

What You Need to be Successful (Project Engineer)
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or science from a recognized institution or a related STEM field
- 8 or more years of increasingly responsible professional engineering/scientific experience working across government programs
- Experience in systems engineering, requirement development, and test/validation
- Skills in performing risk and schedule assessments
- Ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams with Aerospace, government, and contractor personnel
- Travel to contractor and vendor facilities as required
- This position requires active Secret clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
What You Need to be Successful (Sr. Project Engineer)
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or science from a recognized institution or a related STEM field
- 12 or more years of increasingly responsible professional engineering/scientific experience working across government programs (includes time acquiring applicable MS, MBA, and/or PhD)
- Experience in performing systems engineering, requirement development, and test/validation for large scale programs
- Leading risk and schedule assessments
- Ability to form and lead multi-disciplinary teams with Aerospace, government, and contractor personnel
- Travel to contractor and vendor facilities as required
- This position requires active Secret clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
How You Can Stand Out
It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:
- Advanced technical degree in engineering, science, physics, or related field
- Specific experience in satellite communication systems, ground systems, system integration
- Understanding of space system acquisition
- Ability to perform system-level optimization between cost, schedule, performance, and risk
- Project management and experience
- Knowledge in Strategic Comm missions
- Familiarity with Aerospace culture and prior experience coordinating with Engineering & Technology Group (ETG)
- Active TS and SBI clearance or ability to attain
