As a Models and Simulation Development Engineer , you will join the System Simulation and Performance team on the Next Generation Interceptor (NGI) program.

In this role, you will: • Develop and test high fidelity models and simulation software• Build new source code in C++ and Python• Modify code in C++, C, Fortran, Python, Linux shell, and YAML• Build and execute unit tests• Execute simulation software on a high performance computing cluster• Work in an Agile DevOps environment with Docker/Container and Kubernetes deployment• Collaborate with the requirements and verification team, performance analysts, flight software team, and customer• Document simulation architecture and interfaces• Support modeling and simulation verification and validation• Support delivery of modeling and simulation software

Typically has 2+ years of professional experience and a technical degree.

This position is in Rocket City USA, one of the greatest places to work: Huntsville, AL

Basic Qualifications
• Experience in one or more of the following:
1. Modeling and simulation development
2. Tactical flight software development
3. Missile defense algorithm development
4. System performance analysis• Interim DoD Secret Clearance required

Desired skills
• Master's degree in Software Engineering, Data Analytics, Computer Science or Aerospace Engineering• Experience working in the development phase of a missile program• Experience with the following programming languages: C++, Fortran, Python, Matlab, Linux• Hifi modeling and simulation development • Weapon system performance analysis• Statistical modeling• Active Secret clearance

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Pay Rate:
In compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $64,400 - $107,400 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and business considerations when extending an offer.
