Meet the team:

At Argo AI Systems Engineers work on our onboard autonomy suite, the integration with the vehicle, or the cloud based systems.They define and study multiple alternative architectures, perform trade studies, flow down requirements, establish design verification methods, and make data-based recommendations. They work cross-functionally and team up with OEM and Argo Teams (Hardware, Software, Safety, Verification & Validation, Product, and more).

Systems Engineers use a variety of engineering tools including Jama for documentation and alignment on the system requirements.  This role is a combination of Systems Engineering support and IT support to coordinate between the engineers, the processes, and the tool provider(s) to optimize the team’s performance and improve cross-functional utilization of the requirements database.

What you’ll do: 

  • Maintaining the requirements management tool (Jama)
  • Implementing and maintaining methods for managing access and permissions
  • Coordinating tool upgrades and supporting software installations with Systems Engineering and IT
  • Developing, planning, and executing database backup and recovery procedures
  • Coordinating with the Requirements Process Manager to configure the requirements management database (Jama) to facilitate company processes
  • Support external data exchange process and automation
  • Prepare detailed documentation for database users
  • Partner with test, simulation, data analytics, and software teams to integrate Jama with other engineering tools
  • Develop database-related process metrics and monitor performance
  • Develop custom scripts to improve usage efficiency
  • Support other systems engineering tools, as required

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics or a related field
  • Experience in API integration 
  • Strong software skills with Java, Python, and preferably Apache Velocity
  • Experience in engineering tools and processes (3+ years minimum experience)
  • Previous experience with requirements management tools (e.g. Jama (preferred), Polarion, DOORS NextGen)
  • Strong communication skills and leadership abilities to work with cross-functional engineering teams and drive towards decisions

Nice to haves:

  • Previous experience in Systems Engineering
  • Previous experience in Embedded Software, or as a system software engineer
  • Experience with JSON, XML, HTML
