The Workday Solutions Architect will have responsibility for the successful implementation, integration, and customization of Workday applications from project initiation to production roll-out.


The successful candidate will have business process architect experience gathering requirements, designing, delivering, and supporting business transformation using Workday in areas of HCM, Compensation, Advanced Comp, Contracts Management, Time & Billing, and Recruiting. The Architect will also work closely with the PMs, HR/Corporate Managers, IT Teams and Business SMEs to support the continuous development of Workday. This role will collaborate extensively with the Operations, Tax, Audit, Consulting and IT teams to support the firm’s infrastructure, oversee system security, manage integrations, and create advanced reports and dashboards. Other priorities include reviewing semi-annual Workday releases and deploying new relevant functionality.


Ideal work location is Raleigh - Durham NC. But also open to remote location within the US.

You will...

  • Configuration knowledge across modules: Provide configuration consultation across all Workday projects. Provide technology configuration consultation and expertise in multiple modules in the Workday HCM suite (HCM Core, Compensation, Absence, Talent and Performance, Learning) and Workday Security
  • Core/Advanced Comp Expertise: Lead the Workday Architecture & Design process including in-depth involvement with Workday Core Compensation and Advanced Compensation configuration.
  • Expert for Annual Compensation / On-Demand Reviews. Designs and develops technical solutions to business requirements and develops components including EIB, Report Based, Studio, SOA and BPEL integrations.
  • Automation: Drive improvements that help us to scale through optimization and automation of manual processes. Drive Security Governance and Management across all modules, includes internal Policies and SOX controls.
  • Collaborates with HR Management, Payroll, Finance, Audit, Tax, consulting and IT teams to understand system end-user needs and provides recommendations to keep Workday business processes simple and efficient.
  • Maps processes, capabilities and business object models to application types and specific solutions in application landscape for assigned area
  • Work with IT teams, business analysts and data analytics teams to understand consumers’ needs and develop solutions.
  • Create and maintain documentation of the business process, integration, and related data architecture to identify areas of friction, waste, and opportunities for improvement
  • Keep current Workday roadmap and support global Workday’s technology strategy and upcoming functionality to evolve and improve the overall platform and user experience
  • Support HR/Business stakeholders through technology projects (e.g. enhancements & system upgrades) from planning to configuration to testing and implementation – providing leadership, functional and technical guidance
  • Provide strategic insights on Workday HCM best practices inclusive of new feature assessment, system settings and enhancement opportunities

You should have...

  • 8+ years experience as a Workday Functional Configuration Leader / Architect, 3 plus years of experience in a Workday implementation role with a minimum 2 Workday implementations.
  • Experience developing architecture blueprints, strategies and roadmaps
  • Have a deep understanding of how system configuration impacts processes inside and outside of Workday
  • Configuration and support experience with Workday Core HCM and Compensation/Advanced Compensation/Recruiting
  • Experience building and maintaining EIB’s, Connectors, XSLT, Workday Studio and BIRT.
  • Great to have familiarity with other integration platforms
  • Solid experience with interface, networking, and data warehousing technologies, as well as design, relational database technologies, and performance tuning
  • Experience with Web Services, XML and APIs (WSDL, SOAP, REST and WS standards)
  • Strong expertise in cloud-based multi-tenant systems
