Lockheed Martin is looking for an energetic and high performing Staff Systems Engineer to join the MAVIS program team in Huntsville, Alabama. Be a part of returning the first sample from another planet! Join our team in racing to launch the first rocket from the surface of Mars and protect the sample as it returns to earth.

In this role you will:• Lead Risk and Opportunities Management, Product Life Cycle reviews and maintain product Technical Performance Measures (TPMs) report• Work directly with Integrated Product Team (IPT)/Segment leads, and subcontractors to identify risks and opportunities, coordinate internally and externally to assess risks / opportunities and implement appropriate risk and opportunity handling strategies. Deliver Risk and Opportunity training as necessary• Participate in recurring Risk and Opportunity Management Boards and Reviews• Lead and perform trade studies to optimize the product• Prepare for, participate in, and lead the walk up to and conduct of Design Reviews such as SRR, SDR, PDR, CDR, TRR, etc. • Customer data deliverables typically include Risk & Opportunity registry, TPM report, trade study report

Typically has 9 - 15 years of professional experience.

Basic Qualifications:• Experience with Risk and Opportunity Management tools and processes• Experience with Technical performance measure• Experience in leading design reviews• Demonstrated Systems Engineering process knowledge• Proficiency with standard documentation and presentation tools• Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related field, or equivalent experience/combined education
Desired Skills:• Spacecraft Systems Engineering experience• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, [including MS Project]• Effectively manage change• Proven behaviors of a systems thinker; selects and applies appropriate systems thinking skills to solve very complex problems and implement constructive change• Ability to lead multi-functional teams, build strong relationships with team members and build consensus among peers• Masters degree in Systems Engineering or other relevant field, or INCOSE Certification or relevant Graduate Certificate

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
