Role Summary

As a Staff Supply Chain Engineer within our Service Parts organization, you will partner within the team by understanding the overall performance of the End to End supply chain. You will be held accountable to develop dashboards and providing recommendations for operational excellence and improvements, driving action from your insights. Our Staff Supply Chain Engineer will partner with a Data Scientists by providing input into the creation and execution of models, such as Linear and Regression modeling. Being able to execute and analyze the output of these models to support the Service Parts distribution network strategy and execution, is a must. Put your story telling and precise communication skills to the test by maximizing large data sets and visuals as you apply lean concepts to sustainably improve processes for the entire Service Parts organization. The Staff Supply Chain Engineer will be evaluated on your ability to influence your teammates with your recommendations and the operational improvements as your partner with the the entire Service organization here at Rivian! 


Responsibilities

  • Identify data sources required to visualize service parts distribution supply chain performance (Lead-time, inventory, service, cost)
  • Present information using data visualization techniques (in Tableau or PowerBI) and make recommendations on path forward
  • Lead cross functional teams and forums to drive continuous improvements in total supply chain performance balancing cost, service, and inventory
  • Create ad-hoc reports for the Service Parts team to support strategic and tactical planning
  • Analyze complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision-makers.
  • Identify and interpret trends and patterns in datasets to locate root-cause drivers
  • Automate non-value-added tasks and data collection for dashboards in collaboration with IT
  • Make clear fact-based recommendations to challenge and spark out-of-the-box innovation and techniques

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in structuring, analyzing, and visualizing large data sets
  • Bachelor’s in Industrial Engineering, Data Analytics, Statistics, or Computer Science – Masters a plus
  • Clear understanding of the holistic supply chain and trade-offs between inventory, cost, and service level – Spare parts or accessories operations a plus
  • Strong collaborator and leader with the drive for operational improvement and operational excellence
  • Analytical ability to draw insights from unstructured data and provide fact-based recommendations
  • An ability to create dashboards and tell a story using data including visualization experience (Tableau, Microsoft PowerBI)
  • Experience using statistical computer languages and orchestration tools (R, Python, SQL, Alteryx, Apache Spark, Kubernetes, Docker, etc.) to manipulate data and support trend analysis from large data sets is a plus
  • Strong analytical and structured problem-solving capabilities with a focus on root cause investigations using data and visualizations
  • Lean and continuous improvement expertise based on concrete experience with automation of non-value-added tasks and data gathering
