The CDC and Caching team is building streaming and caching infrastructure on which Lyft's product teams rely upon to implement low latency high fidelity business logic decisions. We build world class highly reliable and scalable modern infrastructure that is highly critical for the business to operate reliably. In this role we are looking for an experienced tech driver who can lead a small but highly performant team of 4 engineers to build a vision for both the streaming and caching solutions. Streaming data pipelines are build on tops of Kafka and Kafka Connectors (Open sourced). We guarantee a in-order 1 sec latency pipeline(change data streams) as well as observability metrics that help us unify feature needs across a wide array to customers. Our Caching work is still in its infancy and it's a great time to build out a robust roadmap that is high impact to the Business. MVP for our in-house built caching work is targeting Q3 of this year This role has a lot of opportunity for making an impact across various organizations at Lyft and gives ample scope for creativity as well as driving technical decisions that can support our future scale

Responsibilities:

• Help establish roadmap and architecture based on technology and our needs
• Write well-crafted, well-tested, readable, maintainable code
• Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and distribute knowledge
• Share your knowledge by giving brown bags, tech talks, and promoting appropriate tech and engineering best practices
• Can help lead large projects from idea to positive execution
• Unblock, support and communicate with internal partners to achieve results

Experience:

• 5+ years of software engineering industry experience
• Experience with object-oriented programming
• Experience in distributed systems
• Experience working with databases, relational or NoSQL
• Write clear, scalable and clear design documentation
• Design, build and improve a set of team owned components
