Job Overview
TE Connectivity's Quality and Reliability Engineering Teams analyze the ability of product and production systems to comply with customer and contractual requirements through established reliability factors. They design, recommend revisions and install quality control systems, develop and document analytical methods for establishing reliability of products and their components and conduct analysis on relative reliability with regards to cost, structure, weight, maintainability, facility of production, and availability of materials and equipment. Our teams develop, implement and monitor company environmental safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health and safety regulations and recommend corrective actions if necessary.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop our supplier base to deliver quality products on time.
- Work with suppliers and customers facilitating and solving problems
- Assist suppliers in preparing process flow diagrams, DFMEA, PFMEA, corrective/preventative actions and process troubleshooting and improvements.
- Prepare documentation for quality inspection plans as needed; uploading the plans to SAP for direct-ship components
- Coordinate supplier concern resolutions for Sustaining product complaints
- Perform supplier quality audits as required to improve the performance of the suppliers (via core tools) to audit and optimize legacy tools and work centers at suppliers
- Assist in developing and executing proactive and reactive business processes to increase performance and capabilities of the supplier to meet TE's short- and long-term supply needs
- Promote ongoing mutually beneficial improvements with the suppliers
- Develop supplier capabilities in 8D skills using a comprehensive 8D scoring and coaching tool.
- Utilize technical problem-solving tools to diagnose and fix escalated, particularly difficult technical challenges in the supply base in effort to protect TE costs of poor quality and delivery internally and to our customers.
What your background should look like:
- BS Degree in Engineering required with 5+ years of relevant experience in an automotive regulated environment (Tier 1 and OEM).Master's Degree preferred
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or advanced knowledge and use of convergent technical problem-solving tools preferred, and Shainin Red X Certification preferred
- CQE, IATF16949 lead auditor or VDA 6.3 certification preferred to support Suppliers and internal audit cadence within TEC
- Systematic Problem-Solving tool - Root Cause Analysis knowledge preferred. Working knowledge of PPAP, SPC, capability analysis, gage R&R, and statistical techniques
- Looking for a team-player, project manager, and cross-functional team communicator who canlead and motivate engineering resources within a matrixed organization
- Candidate must be well versed in working in technical and commercial environments and work fluidly to lead communications with suppliers and customers up to the OEM level
- Must be willing to travel up to 50% within the US and Mexico
- Must be able to interpret blueprints of plastic parts, assemblies, and systems
- Prefer experience in molding of clear plastic parts in appearance critical lighting applications preferred. Some molding RGJ level training preferred
- Proficiency working with Minitab or other statistical software strongly desirable; along with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SAP
- Spanish fluency is preferred.
