The Opportunity

As the Site Reliability Engineering Manager on the Kandji team, you will work closely with our SRE's to define and shape the future of our DevOps and SRE practice. You will use your leadership skills to grow the team, prioritize technical tasks, and deliver on specified dates. You will leverage your experience to reduce toil on the team and keep a tight focus on the business value provided by the requested features.


We are looking for someone with strong SRE and Kubernetes experience, who can come up with strong opinions on how to shape our future. The successful candidate will excel in making technical choices that have no one clearly correct answer but whose consequences have a sweeping effect across your scope in the organization.

Day to Day

  • Evangelize best practices around collaboration, reliability, security, and performance to all partner teams
  • Collaborate closely with the management of other teams including Software Engineering, Infrastructure, and Security
  • Lead a team of Senior SRE’s, while coaching more junior level SRE’s
  • Communicate development issues, team challenges, and overall productivity of teams with executive leadership
  • Deliver performance reviews for your team members and set up performance goals
  • Help teams understand the reliability of their services using metrics and observability.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to drive best practices for monitoring, CI/CD pipelines
  • Troubleshoot deployment issues in our CI/CD pipeline
  • Advocate emphatically for the DevOps culture here at Kandji
  • Identify areas for automation and embrace the codification of all things

Minimum Qualifications

  • Reduce toil for developersProficiency in at least one, Python, Go, Node, Ruby, or Elixir
  • Experience using/operating Kubernetes in a production environment.
  • Ability to learn fast and be adaptable to environments and change.
  • Professional experience with cloud-native observability standards such as Open metrics, Open tracing, and Open Census
  • Intimate understanding and experience implementing SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs from the service level to the business level
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code, automation, and configuration
  • Experience troubleshooting containerized applications
